Park City Institute Presents LA Theatre Works' Powerful Play, THE MOUNTAINTOP

Marking history with art, Park City Institute presents L.A. Theatre Works' Olivier Award-winning play, The Mountaintop, by Katori Hall. The powerful two-person play imagines the story of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr's last night on earth. "This year marks the 50th Anniversary of Dr. King's assassination," said PCI Executive Director, Teri Orr. "We wanted to honor his memory, his work, and his life, by presenting The Mountaintop. The play is filled with humor, political jabs, and offers a glimpse at the human side of this larger-than-life figure. And, it carries a message that is still relevant, today."

Internationally renowned spoken-word artist, author, TED Speaker, and anti-bullying advocate, Shane Koyczan will perform Saturday, March 24, 2017 at the George S. and Dolores Dore Eccles Center for the Performing Arts, part of the Park City Institute's 20th Anniversary Main Stage Season. The performance begins at 7:30 P.M., tickets start at $29. Koyczan will deliver an evening of his starkly-honest, rhythmic verse.

New York City Opera Presents IL PIGMALIONE By Donizetti And PIGMALION By Rameau

New York City Opera continues its 2017-18 Chamber Opera Series with a unique double bill of Donizetti's Il Pigmalione and Rameau's Pigmalion, the first time these one-act gems will be presented on the same program. The production also marks the New York premiere of Donizetti's first opera. This double bill will be directed and choreographed by Richard Stafford, with Gil Rose conducting the New York City Opera Orchestra and Chorus. Two performances of Il Pigmalione/Pigmalion will be presented at the Gerald W. Lynch Theater on Saturday, March 24 at 3:00 p.m. and Sunday, March 25 at 4:00 p.m.
