Park City Institute presents Trinity Irish Dance Company, Saturday March 10, at 7:30 PM. Known for its percussive movements and its innovative choreography that honors the traditional art form, TIDC will perform on the Main Stage, part of the Institute's 20th Anniversary Season at the George S. and Dolores Doré Eccles Center.

"Trinity Irish Dance Company has performed sold-out tours in Europe, Asia, and North America-for Irish and American presidents, and royalty in Monaco, Japan and even for Indian meditation masters," said Teri Orr, PCI's Executive Director. "Their performances combine the time-honored tradition of precision training, with exciting choreography, and feet that seem to move at the speed of light."

Founded in 1990, by Emmy-award winning choreographer, and former champion Irish step dancer, Mark Howard, Trinity Irish Dance has been a force in creating career paths for Irish dancers, beyond the competition circuit. Howard has long been an in-demand choreographer and dance coach on Hollywood film sets, working with directors including Ron Howard, Sam Mendes, and providing personal dance coaching to Tom Hanks, Kate Hudson, and others.

With TIDC, Howard brings dazzling choreography to fuse the vibrancy of traditional Irish dance with contemporary American ideas - The New York Times calls it, "impossibly complex," while Dance Magazine says it's, simply, "irresistible."

Trinity Irish Dance holds an important place in the dance world, using Irish dance to infuse the medium with passion, flair and precision. Through its collaboration with a variety of noted contemporary choreographers, the company has pioneered the development of a new genre of dance.

The performance at the Eccles will feature the company's high-flying, quick-footed, athletic, yet artistic dance, set against original contemporary Irish music.
