Stage Star Audra McDonald to Join the Utah Symphony in Concert

Beloved vocalist Audra McDonald joins the Utah Symphony on March 23 and 24 for an unforgettable performance at Abravanel Hall. Tickets are priced from $23-$103, and can be purchased online at utahsymphony.org or by calling (801) 533-6683.

The Utah Symphony welcomes Ms. McDonald to her Abravanel Hall stage debut on March 23 and 24 at 7:30 PM under the direction of Eric Stern. With a record-breaking six Tony Awards, two GRAMMY Awards, and a long list of other accolades to her name, Ms. McDonald is known for her off-the-charts vocal talent and artistry to match. Known for her roles on Broadway in "Carousel," "Master Class," "Ragtime", "A Raisin in the Sun," and "Porgy and Bess," Ms. McDonald also won TV fame for her role in "Private Practice."

Unparalleled in the breadth and versatility of artistry, Audra McDonald has been named one of "Time" magazine's 100 most influential people of 2015, and received a 2015 National Medal of Arts-America's highest honor for achievement in the arts-from President Barack Obama. Ms. McDonald's accomplishments in film, opera, TV, and theater are endless, a true master of performance. As an advocate for the needy, Ms. McDonald also helps oversee programs for homeless youth in 27 cities throughout the world as a member of the Covenant House International Board of Directors.

GRAMMY, Emmy, and Gramophone Award-winning conductor Eric Stern has conducted 19 Broadway musicals, and performed in concert with such artists as Barbara Cook, Dianne Reeves, and Jerry Hadley, among others. Mr. Stern has conducted many of the world's top orchestras, including the London Symphony and the Chicago Symphony.
