Teatro SEA, the leading Latine children's theater, has announced its Fall 2022 SEAson, featuring bilingual festivals, performances, and cabaret nights for audiences of all ages.

The Den Theatre will present comedian Cristela Alonzo for three stand-up performances September 29 – 30, 2022 on The Heath Mainstage.

The award-winning theatrical hip-hop and multimedia production Lyrics From Lockdown, written and performed by renowned artist and activist Bryonn Bain, will play one historic performance to a live audience at the world-famous Apollo Theater in Harlem on Monday, August 29 at 7PM.

Teatro SEA has announced the 11th season of MicroTheater New York, a series of short productions, including the premiere of a new puppet theater production 'César Chávez and the Migrants (The César Chávez Story),” which celebrates the life and legacy of the Mexican-American labor activist.

This morning, Berkeley Rep's Artistic Director Johanna Pfaelzer announced the return of The Ground Floor: Berkeley Rep's Center for the Creation and Development of New Work. Thirteen projects from 29 talented artists across the Bay Area have been selected for its Summer Residency Lab.

The Actors’ Gang Theater will debut We Live On, a new play based on Hard Times by Studs Terkel, on July 22nd. With additional text by Tim Robbins and the cast and under Robbins’ direction, the live virtual production will be presented in three parts and will run through September 4th. With music by Cameron Dye and David Robbins, this world premiere features 30 accounts of the Great Depression, including those of Dolores Huerta, Dorothy Day, and Cesar Chavez.

SB 805, entitled, “Save The Performing Arts Act of 2021,” is the first bill in the nation that will create a critical funding infrastructure to help assist Small Nonprofit Performing Arts Companies (SNPAC) with average adjusted gross revenues equal to, or less than $1.4 million, to be adjusted every five years based on the California Consumer Price Index.

Artists throughout the state of California are uniting for the passage of Senate Bill 805 (SB 805), titled, “The Performing Arts Relief Act,” which the Senate Labor Committee will vote on Wednesday, April 19, 2021 at 3:00 p.m. in Sacramento, CA.   A Coalition of 36 small 99-seat non-profit theaters and freelance performers are banding together to make theater accessible to all.
