The Actors’ Gang Theater will debut We Live On, a new play based on Hard Times by Studs Terkel, on July 22nd. With additional text by Tim Robbins and the cast and under Robbins’ direction, the live virtual production will be presented in three parts and will run through September 4th. With music by Cameron Dye and David Robbins, this world premiere features 30 accounts of the Great Depression, including those of Dolores Huerta, Dorothy Day, and Cesar Chavez.
California Artists Unite For The Passage Of The Performing Arts Relief Act

Artists throughout the state of California are uniting for the passage of Senate Bill 805 (SB 805), titled, “The Performing Arts Relief Act,” which the Senate Labor Committee will vote on Wednesday, April 19, 2021 at 3:00 p.m. in Sacramento, CA. A Coalition of 36 small 99-seat non-profit theaters and freelance performers are banding together to make theater accessible to all.

The Town Hall today revealed the first group of names slated to perform at the inaugural Lena Horne Prize for Artists Creating Social Impact event in New York City on Friday, February 28, 2020. The line-up includes Grammy-winning singer Leon Bridges, Grammy-nominated recording artist Rapsody, Grammy-nominated R&B singer Andra Day, and Grammy-nominated rapper BJ The Chicago Kid. The Town Hall also announced that activist Martin Luther King III will take the stage to pay tribute to The Lena Horne Prize and its focus on the intersection of arts and activism. Penny Lane Centers, one of the largest and oldest non-profit social service agencies in Southern California and the first in the County of Los Angeles to accept transgender youth into their residential, foster family agency and other programs, is hosting their 3rd Annual Garden Party Fundraiser on Friday, August 23rd to raise much needed funds for their LGBTQ+ Programs and other initiatives to build a brighter future for LGBTQ+ youth and families. The annual fundraiser will be held at their North Hollywood center located at 10526 Dubnoff Way, North Hollywood, CA 91606.
