Sandra Tsing Loh is an American writer, actress, radio personality, and former professor of art at the University of California, Irvine, who was raised in Malibu and went on to take the comedy world by storm, is returning to the Odyssey Theatre in Los Angeles on Saturday, Jan. 18 at 8 p.m. with an encore performance of I’ll Burn That Bridge When I Come to It (An Hilarious Self-Immolation by Sandra Tsing Loh) as part of the Odyssey’s Thresholds of Invention. I spoke with her about the show!

Written and performed by Marga Gomez and directed by David Schweizer the piece is a buoyant and bawdy romp, set aboard a fictional lesbian luxury ocean liner.

The Los Angeles premiere of Anna Ouyang Moench’s Birds of North America opens September 23, 2023, at The Odyssey Theatre (with previews starting September 20th). Peter Richards directs this narrative of a father and daughter relationship with the cast of Arye Gross and Jacqueline Misaye. I got the chance to examine some of Arye’s views on Birds and his eventful theatrical career.

​​​​​​​Fan favorite Marga Gomez returns to The Marsh San Francisco for workshop performances of her latest work, Swimming With Lesbians. Taking place on The Celesbian cruise ship, this solo sapphic searing spoof follows the adventures of high-spirited poolside emcee Pru Perez. Passengers look up to Pru as a leader and Boss Lesbian of the sea – until the fateful sunny day of the Wet T-Shirt Relay Race when an old boarding school nemesis appears and Pru suddenly finds herself deep in murky waters. 

Albo and Almonte's show continues the Playhouse's tradition of storytelling events which was established in 2017 with the arrival of Michaela Murphy as Bucks County Playhouse's Director of Education.

Following a four-week workshop production last September, legendary performance artist John Fleck's latest work will get a full, world premiere production in 2022. it's alive, IT'S ALIVE, an outrageous musical satire that reflects on our national panic in the face of the pandemic, opens at the Odyssey Theatre on February 19, with performances continuing through March 20.

The Actors’ Gang Theater has just begun streaming their live virtual production of WE LIVE ON, based on the 1970 Hard Times by Studs Terkel. Directed by Actors’ Gang’s artistic director Tim Robbins, WE LIVE ON is performed in three parts. Had a chance to have a fun chat with Patti Tippo, who’s playing legendary burlesque dancer Sally Rand.
