Westport Country Playhouse will present a Script in Hand playreading of “Lombardi,” a Broadway hit about the legendary football coach Vince Lombardi and his family, on and off the playing field, on Monday, February 5, at 7 p.m.

Lombardi, at The Premiere Playhouse in Sioux Falls is an artistic production about the life of famed coach Vince Lombardi and the Green Bay Packers football team. The play covers one week in 1965 with the team preparing for a championship game. The vehicle for moving the story forward is the character of a reporter whose purpose is to write a story about his Look Magazine editor's good friend Vince Lombardi and his Packers team. The catalyst is a disastrous story recently published in Esquire Magazine about the coach and the team. It would seem that the coach has agreed to the story as a way to redeem and control the spin on some things that loose-lipped players have divulged to the Esquire journalist. The main cast is comprised of Vince, his wife Marie, the reporter and some players from the team.

HBO's New Documentary 'The Newspaperman: The Life and Times of Ben Bradlee' will air at 8pm ET on December 4.

“A prolific choreographer of skillfully constructed dances that respectfully mesh with music and striking visual design” (The New Yorker), Jessica Lang and her company return to Jacob's Pillow for the ensemble's first Ted Shawn Theatre engagement, July 5-9. In addition to a Pillow-commissioned world premiere work, the program includes Lang's Thousand Yard Stare, a dance embodying the incredible pride and honor as well as the searing loss experienced by military veterans. The program will also include the East Coast and company premiere of Lang's Lyric Pieces as well as Solo Bach, Sweet Silent Thought, and The Calling. This season, the Pillow has formed a partnership with the Tanglewood Music Center, whereby Tanglewood Fellows and alumni will be providing the music accompaniment for this engagement.

Director Gregg T. Daniel returns to The Group Rep to direct Eric Simonson's critically acclaimed play LOMBARDI based on the book When Pride Still Mattered:  A Life of Vince Lombardi by Pulitzer Prize-winning author David Maraniss.  In our conversation, Gregg talks about the play, his fascination with the nature of greatness, and what he's been up to as a director.
