29th Street Playwrights Collective presents The UN-Auguration, an Evening of American Voices, short plays by New York City playwrights inspired by and commenting on the State of Our Nation. The staged readings will take place on Monday, January 29, at 7pm, at The Bernie Wohl Theater, 647 Columbus Ave. Topics range from climate change to gun control, the opioid epidemic to Trump's White House, Women's March to plumbers, and all kinds of views of life in our modern world.

The One-Minute Play Festival (Dominic D'Andrea, Producing Artistic Director & Caitlin Wees, Associate Producer) and Luna Stage have created a dynamic partnership for The 5th New Jersey One-minute Play Festival with part of the proceeds to benefit new play programming at Luna Stage.

Theaterspeak will present WRITE OUT FRONT, an installation of over 125 award-winning and up-and-coming playwrights writing new plays in the storefront window of the Drama Book Shop during store hours, today, August 1st - 31st. In each two-hour time slot for WRITE OUT FRONT, a different playwright will write a new play on a laptop, while the screen shot of their computer is projected onto a 42' monitor facing the passersby on the street, making their normally private creative process public.

The Midtown International Theatre Festival (MITF) announced the winners of the MITF 2013 Season Awards. The Award ceremony was held on Monday, September 30, 2013 at 7pm at The Actors Temple Theater, 339 W. 47th Street, NYC.

Margarita and Max by Montclair resident, Manuel Igrejas, recently won awards for Best Short Play, Best Actress and Best Director at the Midtown International Theatre Festival in New York City. In the play Margarita is having a rough time. She's unemployed, broke and newly unattached. She's on her way to catch a bus to New York City (any resemblance to the #66 DeCamp bus is purely coincidental) to interview for a menial job she probably won't get. She could use a miracle. A strong spring breeze blows one of those ubiquitous black plastic bags into her path...and into her life. This is no ordinary bag and this is no ordinary day. Stage Left Theatre announces the recipients of the Downstage Left Playwright Residencies for Season 32. Residencies are designed to help playwrights take a project from the conceptual stage all the way to a production-ready script. Playwrights work closely with ensemble directors and members of the literary team to design a process tailored to the particular needs of their project.

Primary Stages ESPA has announced casting for the ESPA*Drills Reading Series this August. ESPA*Drills is an annual new play development program providing professionally staged readings to four ESPA playwrights. The plays are workshopped at Primary Stages under the guidance of the ESPA staff and presented before an audience of industry peers at Off-Broadway's 59E59 Theaters. ESPA*Drills provides an exclusive opportunity for students to receive professional attention through the resources and support of Primary Stages.

Margarita and Max, a new play by Manuel Igrejas, will star Kim McKean and Craig Fox at the Midtown International Theater Festival, directed by David Hilder. The show runs for three performances: today, July 23rd, Saturday, July 27th and Sunday, July 28th, at the Dorothy Strelsin Theater, 312 West 36th St.
