Shelley Segal To Release HOLY EP 3/8

California via Australia's Shelley Segal is set to release her six-song EP, HOLY, in March.  Segal's Americana-tinged latest tackles homesickness (“Already Gone”), religion and leaving the strict Jewish upbringing of her youth (“Holy Man”), a true crime story a murder/suicide (“San Antonio”), national tribalism (“Blood”), love and life partnership (“Here”) and consent in the time of #MeToo (“No”.) Segal will tour North America this spring with stops in Arizona, Florida, Nashville and Philadelphia amongst others.

Starcrawler are making a name for themselves as one of the most exciting up-and-coming bands out of Los Angeles, with upcoming tours with the likes of Beck, Cage The Elephant, Spoon, and The Distillers, and with the recent release of their incredible single “Hollywood Ending,” which earned praise from NPR, Rolling Stone, and spentseveral weeks at #1 on specialty radio. Santigold Announces '10 Years Golder Tour'

Santigold has announced a US tour to commemorate the recent 10thanniversary of her self-titled debut album. The 10 Years Golder Tour kicks off April 30th at Denver's Fillmore Auditorium. She will be performing her debut album in its entirety as well as songs from throughout her career including her latest mixtape-style album I Don't Want: The Gold Fire Sessions (Downtown). Citi is the official presale credit card for the tour. As such, Citi cardmembers will have access to purchase presale tickets beginning Wednesday, February 20 at 10 AM local time until Thursday, February 21 at 10 PM local time through Citi's Private Pass program. Holy Ghost! Announce New LP on West End Records

Holy Ghost!,  the NYC-based duo of Nick Millhiser and Alex Frankel, have confirmed news of a third album coming later this year on West End Records exclusively via Pitchfork. As previously announced the festival will be presented simultaneously in London (New Diorama Theatre), Manchester (HOME) and Bristol (Tobacco Factory Theatres) between 24 - 30 June 2019. Nonesuch and New Amsterdam Records have joined forces to release approximately three albums per year over an initial three-year period. This partnership is the result of conversations between the two New York-based labels about their long-term shared values to support the work of several generations of American composers, with the intention of enabling those artists to realize creative ambitions that might not otherwise be achievable. The collaboration reflects the fifty-four-year-old Nonesuch's legacy and the accomplishments of the ten-year-old New Amsterdam, combining their resources in order to share newly-recorded music with a wider audience.

The trumpeter and composer Samantha Boshnack isn't a geologist by trade, but she certainly thinks a lot about earthquakes and volcanoes. Over the past 15 years, while living in her adopted hometown of Seattle, Boshnack has hiked the environs of Washington's Mount Rainier and Mount St. Helens with a kind of unnerved fascination. During her travels in places like Mexico and Indonesia, she's made a point to visit the storied volcanic sites. Throughout her journeys, a couple of questions have persisted: What causes these astounding landscapes and events, and how are they all connected? And how can these vistas be so unspeakably beautiful yet also harbor such a profound potential for catastrophe?

The Chan Centre for the Performing Arts at the University of British Columbia presents the inimitable, genre-defiant music of Bobby McFerrin on February 17, 2019, at 7pm in the Chan Shun Concert Hall. The concert will feature Gimme5 - McFerrin's newest band comprised of veterans from his a cappella Voicestra group Joey Blake, Dave Worm, Rhiannon, and Judi Vinar - and local choral ensemble musica intima. The program will be based on Circlesinging, a musical practice and philosophy that McFerrin has been honing since he began as a solo a cappella performer, assigning vocal parts to his onstage collaborators and audience members - transforming sold-out houses into glorious impromptu choirs.
