Darrel Alejandro Holnes, the Latinx Playwrights Circle, and Pregones Theater/PRTT announced the launch of the Greater Good Commission and Theater Festival.

The Sol Project, the national theater initiative dedicated to amplifying Latinx voices and building a body of work for the new American theater, and North Star Projects announced a virtual benefit reading of Vanessa Garcia and Jake Cline's play, JENNA & THE WHALE, which will be streamed on Broadway on Demand on Tuesday, June 30 at 5:30pm.

The Civilians, the award-winning New York-based theater company, presents the ninth annual R&D Group FINDINGS Series. 

Dr. Barbara Ann Teer's National Black Theatre (NBT) is now accepting application submissions for its I AM SOUL Playwright Residency Program. Due to the disruption to the artistic community caused by COVID-19, the deadline for submission has been extended to Monday, May 11, 2020, at 11:59 p.m. EST. The festival will run from June 17 - 19 at PRTT (304 West 47th Street, New York, NY 10036).

[Liberating Artistic Bravery] Residency Program, which is comprised of threesignature programs: I Am Soul Playwright Residency withDarrel Alejandro Holnes& Tracey Conyer Lee; Soul Producing Residency with Emana Rachelle; and NBT will be launching this year the Soul Directing Residency with Ebony Noelle Golden. Through The L.A.B., NBT is able to strengthen the artistic relationship between historic Black theatrical institutions and cutting edge artists and administrators. The goal of The L.A.B. is to help diversify the narratives and possibilities being developed and produced about Black lifestyle in American theatre.

Continuing with its mission to support Latin@/x playwrights, the 50 Playwrights Project (50PP) has released its second annual list of recommended unproduced Latin@/x plays. Dubbed The 50PP List, it is comprised of eight production-ready plays by Latin@/x playwrights.

PAGE 73 PRODUCTIONS (Page 73) (Michael Walkup, Producing Artistic Director; Jenny Lagundino, Managing Director; Liz Jones and Asher Richelli, Founding Directors) has named C.A. Johnson the 2018 P73 Playwriting Fellow. Selected from over 400 applicants, Johnson will receive a $10,000 award and additional $10,000 budgeted for developing several new plays over the course of the year.
