Friendship and music. Two forces capable of transforming the world. When combined, they are unbeatable and can produce beauties like Os Paralamas do Sucesso, one of the most important Brazilian bands of all time, which has been around for over 40 years based on these two fundamental pillars. In homage to this trajectory, ‘VITAL, o Musical dos Paralamas’ is born, a show that is also an ode to the friendship of Herbert Vianna, Bi Ribeiro and João Barone, the trio that has led the band for these four decades.

Romance. Wit. Engaging. Timeless. These are a few words that could be used to describe Jane Austen’s 1813 novel Pride and Prejudice a literary classic that is still devoured by readers over two hundred years later. A novel so beloved has certainly had its share of adaptations which have brought the tale to life in many forms. And while many of these offerings have been good, there is something magical and entrancing experiencing this story unfold live on stage. That is what is taking place at The Shakespeare Tavern with Claire F. Martin’s latest reimagining of PRIDE AND PREJUDICE – pure magic. A collaborative offering between The Atlanta Shakespeare Company and Belle Esprit Theatre Collective, this production is fresh, spirited, and truly enchanting.

Pioneer Theatre Company’s professional production of WAITRESS is a well-balanced recipe for the mind and heart, and ultimately a sweet treat to savor. WAITRESS (book by Jessie Nelson, music and lyrics by Sara Bareilles) is based on the 2007 film of the same name. Jenna, who works at a diner baking pies and waitressing to make ends meet, feels like her life with her deadbeat husband is at a dead-end.

Chicago currently holds the record for the longest-running show on Broadway, with 10,500 performances, and the current touring show is an exact replica of the revival that has been running on Broadway since1996. It’s delightful to be able to see this classic production without having to travel to New York and the cast is across the board exceptional.
