Rachel Parris Announces New UK Tour For 2020

BAFTA Nominated comedian and star of BBC Two's The Mash Report, Rachel Parris will tour the UK in Spring 2020, with a brand-new show about big life changes, titled All Change Please. The tour includes three warm up dates at London's Soho Theatre before officially starting in Brighton on 24th April 2020 and concluding in Leeds at the City Varieties on 27th June 2020. Arthur Pita's TEN SORRY TALES Will Premiere At DanceEast Next Month

Award-winning Director and Choreographer Arthur Pita presents the world premiere of TEN SORRY TALES, a dance theatre production based on Mick Jackson's book of short stories. A new commission by DanceEast and Sadler's Wells, produced by Pita's newly renamed company Ballo Arthur Pita, TEN SORRY TALES presents a collection of modern-day fables told through dance, theatre, live music and song. Opening at Jerwood DanceHouse, Ipswich on Friday 13 December, the production runs for 8 performances until Tuesday 17 December 2019.

DanceHouse Launches 2019/20 Season With Canadian Premiere 

DanceHouse, in partnership with Dancers of Damelahamid, launches its exhilarating 2019/20 season with Australia's acclaimed Bangarra Dance Theatre in the Canadian Premiere of Spirit, October 25 & 26, 2019 at 8pm at the Vancouver Playhouse. Choreographed by Bangarra's Artistic Director Stephen Page and former Assistant Artistic Director Bernadette Walong-Sene, the retrospective piece is a visionary fusion of nine of the company's celebrated Indigenous and contemporary works that boldly bridge past and present. Bangarra Dance Theatre has an authentic style of totemic storytelling reflecting the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities a?" tracing the unbroken connection between people, the land, and creation itself. Established in 1989, the cutting-edge company has played a critical role in the resurgence of traditional dance expressions.

Line Up Announced For Manchester Podcast Festival 2019

Manchester Podcast Festival unveil a stellar programme of shows across the city for their second ever year, bringing together some of the UK's most popular podcasts. The festival will begin with Help! I Sexted My Boss at The Dancehouse Theatre on 1st November 2019, and will see live dates across a host of venues in the city throughout the month, concluding on 27th November 2019. Cass McCombs Announces US and European Fall Tour Dates

Cass McCombs has announced new tour dates this week including a US run starting in San Diego on October 9 and a November European tour beginning on November 2 in London. He is also making his Americanafest debut this year with a performance in The Frothy Pit, a new collaboration featuring McCombs and country music legend Wynonna Judd. The Frothy Pit will be performing for the first time at the ANTI- Records showcase at AMERICANAFEST, taking place in Nashville at the Mercy Lounge on September 12. Indigenous Artist Jacob Boehme Explores Queer And HIV-Positive Identity In New Solo Show

DanceHouse, SFU Woodward's Cultural Programs, and Talking Stick Festival are honoured to present the West Coast premiere of ILBIJERRI Theatre Company's Blood on the Dance Floor by Jacob Boehme, on stage February 6-9, 2019 at 8pm at the SFU Goldcorp Centre for the Arts. Rooted in Aboriginal Dance, theatre, and storytelling, this award-winning work, written and performed by Jacob Boehme, choreographed by Mariaa Randall, and directed by Isaacc Drandic, is based on the deeply personal experience of Boehme, a renowned dancer, writer, and choreographer from the Narangga and Kaurna nations of South Australia. Blood on the Dance Floor unapologetically shares Boehme's emotionally honest story of gay, Blak, and poz identities; and explores the struggle, heartache, and enduring spirit of someone living at the intersection of Aboriginal, queer, and HIV-positive communities.

The Antlers' 'Hospice' Celebrates 10 Year Anniversary with Reissue

The Antlers are excited to announce the forthcoming vinyl reissue of their seminal album Hospice on March 8 via Frenchkiss Records / Transgressive. LOST DOG's 'searingly witty' (SeeingDance) 'Juliet & Romeo' toured the UK during 2017 to packed houses and critical acclaim. Broadly based on Shakespeare's deeply pessimistic teenage love story, this 'highly entertaining, extremely amusing and occasionally quite tender evening of theatre and dance' (Times) is performed by Lost Dog's Artistic Director Ben Duke and Solene Weinachter. This clever, funny production explores contemporary culture's celebration of youth and how it creates unrealistic expectations around love, sex and relationships.

DanceHouse Invites Audiences Into a Fantastical World of Whimsy in the Vancouver Premiere of Akram Khan Company's 'Chotto Desh'

DanceHouse, in co-presentation with SFU Woodward's Cultural Programs and Theatre la Seizieme, is delighted to announce the anticipated Vancouver premiere of Akram Khan Company's award-winning solo, Chotto Desh - loosely based on Khan's childhood raised under the stern eye of his authoritarian father, November 21-24, 2018 at 8pm at the SFU Goldcorp Centre for the Arts. Performances will be held in French on November 22 at 8pm and with ASL Interpretation on November 24 at 2pm. Revered UK choreographer Akram Khan and acclaimed children's theatre Director Sue Buckmaster fuse kathak, storytelling, mime, and interactive animation, to create a bewitching tale of a young man's dreams and memories growing up in Britain and Bangladesh. This charming work for adults and children ages seven and up, will address the complex relationship between parent and child, as well as timely concepts of home, identity, and belonging in our multicultural world.

Protein Presents THE LITTLE PRINCE

Loved by children and adults around the world for generations, the classic tale by Antoine de Saint-Exupery will be given a fresh and witty new adaptation using Luca Silvestrini's distinctive blend of dance, humour, words and music. Audiences will be invited to join the Little Prince as he journeys through a weird and wonderful universe, meeting fascinating characters along the way whilst learning about the value of friendship and love.
