The League of Improv today has revealed a a Summer season of bright, sharp, and ridiculously funny comedy, with three shows, each featuring a high profile stand-up star as Special Guest. 

Several new cast members have joined the cast of First Day on Earth, the HBO and BBC original drama from Michaela Coel. Among the new cast are Rocks star Bukky Bakray, West End alum Rakie Ayola, and stage and screen actor Kobna Holdbrook-Smith, among others.

The League of Improv will take up a monthly residency at The Phoenix Arts Club with a launch show that features one of the funniest comedy stars on the circuit - Lou Sanders. 

Nikolai Gogol's 1836 satire The Government Inspector caused a stir for calling out the Russian government's corruption. It's easy to see why Peter Myers wanted to bring its relevant story to the stage two centuries later, but the biting commentary under the silliness is lost in translation in this chaotic production in spite of the talent onstage.

TV comedy royalty Vicki Pepperdine (Poor Things, Getting On, Dear Joan and Jericha) will star alongside Kiell Smith-Bynoe (Ghosts, Stath Lets Flats, Taskmaster, Man Like Mobeen) and Dan Skinner (Shooting Stars, This Time with Alan Partridge, The Kennedys) in a brand-new production of Nikolai Gogol's  THE GOVERNMENT INSPECTOR.

The new space - Southwark Playhouse Elephant, is welcoming a revival of Enda Walsh's award winning The Walworth Farce as its debut full scale production, held in its 310-seat main auditorium.
