Woolly Mammoth Theatre Company’s gala, A MAMMOTH RENAISSANCE, was a night to remember, as more than 350 attendees at the Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Library joined in honoring social activist, political strategist, philanthropist, and modern “Renaissance man” Luis A. Miranda, Jr. More than $565,000 — the most in Woolly’s history — was raised to support its work towards a radically inclusive theatre industry.

Casting & Creatives Announced for World-Premiere Musical GRACE

Ford’s Theatre Society today announced full casting and the design team for the world-premiere musical Grace, with Music and Lyrics by Nolan Williams, Jr.; Book by Nolan Williams, Jr., and Nikkole Salter; and Directed and Choreographed by Robert Barry Fleming.

New Musical GRACE to Hold Industry Presentations in New York City This August

Producers Dale A. Mott of Edgewood (Broadway’s The Lifespan of a Fact and the upcoming Thoughts of a Colored Man) and NEWorks Productions have announced two industry presentations for GRACE, to be held on August 24, 2021, at Alvin Ailey Studios (405 West 55th Street).

Grace, an electrifying musical celebrating the perseverance of family and the power of tradition by American composer Nolan Williams Jr., will make its world premiere at Ford’s Theatre in Washington in spring 2022, directed and choreographed by Robert Barry Fleming.

AKA NYC Announces Inaugural Projects For The Black Producer 500 Hours Initiative

AKA NYC has announced that Producers Blair Russell, Dale A. Mott, and Nolan Williams, Jr. have been chosen as the inaugural recipients of the newly formed Black Producer 500 Hours Initiative. The goal is to help open doors for new, diverse, and necessary storytellers on Broadway stages and in arts and performance spaces across the country.
