Outer Critics Circle, the organization of writers and commentators for media covering New York theatre announced today its award winners for the 2017-18 season in 27 categories.

Desperate Measures will make its highly anticipated return to New World Stages beginning May30 with opening night set for June 13. 

YOUlogy, a new musical by Ethan Andersen and Charlie Johnson, is having an industry reading on May 4th, 2018. The reading will be directed by Amy Jones.

Outer Critics Circle, the organization of writers and commentators covering New York theater for out-of-town newspapers, national publications and other media beyond Broadway, announced today (April 24, 2018) its nominees for the 2017-18 season. Broadway's "Come From Away" starJenn Colella along with "The Band's Visit" sensation Katrina Lenk presided over the (11AM) announcement ceremony in the Oak Room at New York's renowned Algonquin Hotel (59 W 44th Street). 

Pat Flicker Addiss and Mary Cossette present Desperate Measures, a new musical comedy gone wild with music by David Friedman (Listen To My Heart), book and lyrics by Peter Kellogg (Anna Karenina),and directed by Bill Castellino (Cagney, Marry Harry). The York Theatre Company just presented its Spring Gala Celebration of the 15th anniversary of the Off-Broadway hit The Musical of Musicals (The Musical!).

Kristi Roosmaa, Nicole Corris with Corris Line Productions, and Maija Anttila with Soulgaze Films presented a sold out concert performance of Kalevala the Musical, composed by Johanna Telander at the Scandinavia House in New York.

As BroadwayWorld reported earlier this week, Tony Award-winning producer, 'Hamilton' alum and 'Power' co-star Brandon Victor Dixon will star as Judas and join an already stellar cast in NBC's highly anticipated special event 'Jesus Christ Superstar Live in Concert,' to be aired Easter Sunday, April 1 from the Marcy Armory in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, N.Y. Also joining the cast are Tony nominee Ben Daniels as Pontius Pilate, Tony nominee Norm Lewis as Caiaphas, Broadway veteran Jason Tam as Peter, 'M. Butterfly' star Jin Ha as Annas and Swedish rock star Erik Gronwall as Simon Zealotes.

Maija Anttila, Nicole Corris and Kristi Roosmaa, a powerful, all female driven team, are producing a concert performance featuring samples from an upcoming production of KALEVALA the musical, composed by Johanna Telander. Honeck-Moss Productions presents "In The Works." Final Weeks! Desperate Measures will celebrate its milestone 100th performance on Thursday afternoon, December 28!
