Filipino-Canadian singer-actor Darren Espanto does a cover song of Benj Pasek, Justin Paul, and Joriah Kwame’s “Top of the World” from the live-action and animation hybrid film “Lyle, Lyle, Crocodile,” which is screening now in the Philippines.

The Key West Film Festival announced the recipients of its annual Golden Key Awards to be presented to screen legend Chris Cooper and Elegance Bratton, director of the upcoming release The Inspection. The Santa Fe Opera will present the world premiere of This Little Light of Mine, a new opera about the life of voting rights activist Fannie Lou Hamer. The one-act opera is composed by Chandler Carter with libretto by Diana Solomon-Glover. Under development since 2017, the piece is commissioned by the Santa Fe Opera and its Opera for All Voices (OFAV) consortium partners.

The National Film Board of Canada (NFB) is saddened to learn of the death of filmmaker Gerald Potterton (1931–2022), who died at the Brome-Missisquoi-Perkins Hospital in Cowansville, Quebec, on the evening of Tuesday, August 23, at the age of 91.

The Broadway production of Mr. Saturday Night has cancelled performances for today, May 28th, 2022, as Billy Crystal has tested positive for Covid-19. In an Instagram post announcement, the show's team writes, 'Today’s performances at 2PM and 8PM are canceled. Billy Crystal tested positive for Covid-19 prior to today’s performance of Mr. Saturday Night, despite strict adherence to health and safety protocols. A second test has confirmed this diagnosis.'
