At Last! AMAZING GRACE Cast Album Will Arrive on 2/26

DMI Soundtracks announced today that the Broadway cast album of Amazing Grace will be released on February 26; with digital download pre-orders available on February 12. Amazing Grace will be available to purchase on all digital download and streaming services, as well as in-store. The recording was co-produced and engineered by six-time Grammy Award winner Frank Filipetti and co-produced and arranged by Joseph Church.

ELVIS LIVES to Kick Off 2016-17 Tour This Month in Fort Worth

It's Elvis' birthday week, and BroadwayWorld has just learned that the award-winning theatrical attraction ELVIS LIVES 'THE ULTIMATE ELVIS TRIBUTE ARTIST EVENT' will kick off the 2016-2017 touring season on January 26, 2016 with its third return performance at Bass Hall in Ft. Worth, Texas.

Apollo's Fire to Perform SEPHARDIC JOURNEY, 2/4

Back by popular demand - Apollo's Fire reprises its latest creative crossover program by Artistic Director Jeannette Sorrell, in collaboration with guest co-director Nell Snaidas.  “Sephardic Journey: Wanderings of the Spanish Jews” premiered in five sold-out concerts in February 2014.  The program will be performed during February 4-7 at several venues, including an important debut at the new Maltz Performing Arts Center of Case Western Reserve University. The performances will coincide with a highly anticipated release of the program on CD, for British record label AVIE.

Dolora Zajick to Receive Opera Index Distinguished Achievement Award

On Sunday, January 17, Opera Index will present its 37th Distinguished Achievement Award to Dolora Zajick, a true dramatic mezzo-soprano, acclaimed by The New York Times as “a mezzo in a class by herself,” at a gala evening beginning at 6 p.m. at JW Marriott Essex House, 160 Central Park South.

John Hauser Named Artistic Director of The George London Foundation for Singers

John Hauser, formerly Director of the Rehearsal Department of the Metropolitan Opera, has joined the George London Foundation for Singers in the new position of Artistic Director, assisting the foundation's president, Nora London, with artistic planning.  Stephanie Lamprea continues as General Administrator.  Founded in 1971, the New York-based George London Foundation supports and nurtures young opera singers with an annual competition and recital series.

Tickets to Spencer Theater's 2015-16 Winter Season on Sale Next Week

Spencer Theater Fall-Winter Season 2015-16: There's something for everyone in the 15-show line-up, all staged with superior lighting and grand acoustics at the award-winning, non-profit performance hall located 12 miles north of the mountain resort community of Ruidoso, New Mexico. Evening shows throughout the Fall-Winter-Springseason begin at 7 p.m., with dinner buffets ($20) in the Crystal Lobby starting at 5 p.m.

Howard County Arts Council Now Accepting Submissions for Head StART in ART Residencies

Visual and performing artists are needed for residencies for the Head StART in ARTprogram for the 2015-2016 school year. Residencies will take place at the Ellicott City Head Start Center or the Tubman Head Start Center in Columbia. Artists seeking a residency must have experience working with children; experience with pre-K is preferred. The performing artist residency will conclude with performances by the Head Start children. The visual artist residency will conclude with the completion of an art project for display at their Head Start Center or individual projects for students to take home. Applications are available online at www.hocoarts.org or at the Howard County Center for the Arts, 8510 High Ridge Road, Ellicott City, MD 21043. The deadline for proposals is August 17, 2015.

APOLLO'S FIRE Announces 24th Season Under Music Director Jeannette Sorrell

Apollo's Fire, the Cleveland Baroque Orchestra, proudly announces its 24th season under Music Director Jeannette Sorrell.  Fresh from a series of highly prestigious international engagements this summer, Apollo's Fire enters a new era as one of Northeast Ohio's two world-class orchestras.  Following the ensemble's triumphant debut at the Tanglewood Festival in July, the press remarked simply: “Apollo's Fire conquered Tanglewood. The encore truly brought the house down.” (The Boston Music Intelligencer).  With AF's  already sold-out BBC Proms and Aldeburgh Festival debuts both slated for this August, “Apollo's Fire under the direction of Sorrell has put Cleveland firmly on the period-performance map” (The New Yorker). Cleveland's Baroque orchestra is setting the classical world Aflame. Surely some of those [tour audiences] are now jealous of Cleveland” (The Cleveland Plain Dealer).

Apollo's Fire Presents TANGLEWOOD and BBC PROMS Send-Off Concerts, 6/29-30 and 8/11-12

This summer, Apollo's Fire embarks on its fourth international tour, performing with world-renowned violinist, Alina Ibragimova, at the BBC Proms in London (Aug. 15), The Aldeburgh Music/Snape Proms in the UK (Aug. 16), and performing a separate chamber program at the Tuscany Musical Landscapes Festival in Italy (Aug. 21). Apollo's Fire's debut at the BBC Proms will be followed by a VIP reception hosted by the U.S. Embassy Chargé d'Affaires. Additionally, Apollo's Fire presents “Greatest Hits of the 1720s” at the prestigious Tanglewood Festival in Lenox, MA on July 2. 

Matthew Zelle Names EVP at Park Avenue Artists

Matthew Zelle has joined the executive team at Park Avenue Artists, the distinctive artist-management company. Zelle will hold the title of Executive Vice President at Park Avenue Artists (PAA), co-founded in 2011 by David Lai and Ross Michaels, who share the title of President.
