ArtsEmerson and the American Repertory Theater present the world premiere of THE WHITE CARD by playwright and poet Claudia Rankine. The groundbreaking piece of theater begins a conversation and challenges us to stay in the room to talk about race in America. It suggests that society cannot progress if whiteness stays invisible and unexamined. At the end of the play, Act II encourages the audience to participate in the dialogue with facilitators guiding the process.

American Repertory Theatre presents the world-premiere of Claudia Rankine's THE WHITE CARD, which opened on February 24th and will run through April 1st. This thought-provoking play examines the concept of whiteness, and questions whether or not it is possible to progress as a society if whiteness remains invisible. After each performance of THE WHITE CARD, the audience is invited to stay for a facilitated discussion.
