Performers Under Stress produces the San Francisco Premiere of THERE IS A HAPPINESS THAT MORNING IS by Mickle Maher. 'Happiness' tracks fallout after two classics professors, teaching William Blake's 'Songs of Innocence and Experience', get caught having sex on the campus green. Dramatic argument, declarations of passion and celebration of this fleeting, and ridiculous, trip of life ensue--in verse. Blake lovers, Unite--or, perhaps, Untie!

Denver-based four-piece Flaural is set to release their debut LP, Postponement, which is due out April 19, 2019 via Staycation Records and can be pre-ordered now HERE. Following a string of EPs — 2015's Thin King and 2016's Over Imaginary Cigarettes — and produced by James Barone (Beach House, Tennis), Flaural's Postponement developed over a trying three years for the experimental rock band. On March 27, 2017, frontman Collin Johnson's father passed away after a long struggle with ALS, and the album's cover artwork serves as an homage to his death: an image resembling a clock with hands that read 3:27. The album closer “1616” is being released today on the two year anniversary of his death. FLOOD Magazine has premiered the video for the track calling it “fuzzy, feel-good vibes from a very dark place,” and adding, “If Flaural are any indication, Denver, Colorado, is sounding really good right now.”

The album's first single, “The Thinker,” shared via Stereogum today, was originally written following his father's diagnosis, with Johnson singing, “Nobody likes when you're not well / Come up, come up, and feel better now.” The song's lyrics were reworked after he passed, adding the line, “Unanswered questions still haunt me.” The upbeat, emotional track ends with a dark, hectic, instrumental frenzy of piercing baritone saxophone squeaks layered over sporadic, aggressive guitar and driving drums.

This limited-run production, directed by Anna Smith, will open at the Phoenix Theatre- located at 414 Mason Street, San Francisco- on Friday, January 11 at 8 PM.

PlayGround and Noise Pop present the July 8-30 premiere (Previews July 6 & 7) of  Vignettes On Love, a new multi-media play based on original writings by David Steele, with the play co-written by Steele, Victoria Chong Der and Davern Wright. Vignettes On Love is a comi-drama that strips raw the sexualy and ideology of six San Franciscans by exploring their intersecting lives as they struggle with love, betrayal, and self-destructive tendencies in this fast-paced dark comedic drama. Sometimes love stings.

Denver based quartet Flaural is an outfit with its eclectic roots of influence lodged as firmly in the fertile grounds of psychedelic pop as in the less-often associated soils of shoegaze, new wave, and contemporary experimental.

PlayGround, the Bay Area's leading playwright incubator, has joined forces with San Francisco music festival promoter Noise Pop and entrepreneur David Steele to launch a July 6-30 run of the bold new multi-media play, VIGNETTES ON LOVE, based on original writings by David Steele, with the play co-written by Steele, Victoria Chong Der and Davern Wright.

In association with PianoFight and as a project member of Intersection for the Arts, the Stable Production Company will present the world premiere of APOCALYPSE, PLEASE, a science fiction play by Noelle Viñas and Kevin Vincenti.

The award-winning series MetroFocus premieres new episodes in the New York and tri-state region weeknights at 5 p.m. on WLIW21, 5:30 p.m. on NJTV and 6 p.m. on THIRTEEN. All episodes are available at metrofocus.org following the broadcast.

Last night, February 16, 2017, at a special preview event for the new documentary 'American Masters -- Maya Angelou: And Still I Rise' at The Schomburg Center for Research in Black Culture (New York, NY), Dr. Maya Angelou's grandson Colin Johnson, Co-Founder and Principal of Caged Bird Legacy, LLC, presented Secretary Hillary Rodham Clinton and President Bill Clinton with a plaque of Dr. Maya Angelou's inauguration poem, 'On The Pulse of Morning,' that flew on the Orion Exploration Flight Test-1 (EFT-1) December 5, 2014.
