Tiffany Mills Company Will Present World Premiere of NOT THEN, NOT YET at The Flea Theater

Tiffany Mills Company returns to The Flea Theater with the world premiere of Not then, not yet, an evening-length work that explores states of transition and transformation. Performances are Wednesdaya?"Saturday, November 13a?"16, at 7pm. The Flea Theater is located at 20 Thomas Street (between Church Street and Broadway), in Manhattan.

GVO Will Present its Annual Holiday Concert

The Greenwich Village Orchestra (GVO) presents its annual holiday concert, led by Music Director Barbara Yahr and Associate Conductor Eric Mahl, on Sunday, December 8, 2019 at 3:00pm at All Saints Church. The concert's theme is Partnerships and Collaboration and features a side-by-side performance with student musicians from the 3rd Street Music School. The family-friendly program opens with Vivaldi's Flute Concerto in E-minor, with the GVO's own Simon Dratfield as soloist. The students from 3rd Street Music School join the GVO for Karl Jenkins' Palladio. Next, Eric Mahl leads the orchestra in the March from Prokofiev's Love for Three Oranges. Young violinist Ben Lerman performs the first movement of Tchaikovsky's Violin Concerto in D-major. The concert concludes with the finale of Rimsky-Korsakov's Scheherezade, featuring the high school students from the 3rd Street Music School.

Maryland Lyric Opera Orchestra Will Have its Debut Symphonic Performance With Legendary Pianist Leon Fleisher

Botox isn't just for beauty! Witness an unforgettable performance by legendary pianist a?" and medical miracle a?" Leon Fleisher alongside the Maryland Lyric Opera (MDLO) Orchestra in its debut symphonic performance on Nov. 12, 2019, 7:30 pm at The Music Center at Strathmore. Conducted by MDLO Music Director Louis Salemno, the Kennedy Center Honoree and Oscar-nominated Fleisher will join the MDLO in a performance of Mozart's Piano Concerto No 12. Salemno will also lead the MDLO in performances of Mozart's iconic Overture from Le Nozze de Figaro; Debussy's Preludes a l'apres-midi d'un faune; and Sibelius' Symphony No. 2 in D Major, Op. 43. Fleisher made his public debut with the New York Philharmonic at just 16 years old. By age 36, Fleisher's right hand was barely mobile, and he was diagnosed with focal dystonia, a devastating neurological condition that caused involuntary muscular contractions. The diagnosis left Fleisher in despair only temporarily; after a few years, he turned to teaching, conducting, and left-handed piano performances. After nearly four decades, aided by Botox injections in his right hand, Fleisher returned to the stage as a two-handed piano soloist officially in 2005, performing 40 concerts in 31 cities. Young Artists Of America At Strathmore's 2019-2020 Season

The Emmy Award-winning organization will kick off their 2019/2020 season on Sunday, October 27, 2019 with Once Upon a Mattress in Concert at The Clarice Smith Performing Arts Center at 4:00pm and again at Millenium Stage at The John F. Kennedy Performing Arts Center November 2, 2019 at 6:00pm. The production will feature over 140 talented, local high school and middle school student artists from their YAAOrchestra, YAACompany and YAAjunior programs.
