The Lucille Lortel Theatre Foundation has announced the guest lineup for February 2020 tapings of the popular a?oeLive at the Lortela?? podcast focused on Off-Broadway. Each taping lasts about 60 minutes a?" with 45 minutes of moderated conversation with host Eric Ostrow and 15 minutes for audience questions. Harry Townsend's Last Stand a new play written by George Eastman (The Snow Job; Bitter Exchange) and directed by Karen Carpenter (Love, Loss and What I Wore; Handle With Care), has extended its limited run through April 5th due to enormous response from critics and audience alike, it was announced today by producerDennis Grimaldi (A Gentlemen's Guide...; Love Letters, Angels in America, Other People's Money). This is the final extension and the play must close on that date.

Walter Bobbie and Brooke Shields Will Lead a Reading Of THE MAN WHO CAME TO DINNER

A star-studded cast led by Tony-winner Walter Bobbie and Broadway and Hollywood star Brooke Shields are featured in a benefit reading of George S. Kaufman and Moss Hart's iconic comedy, a?oeThe Man Who Came to Dinnera?? directed by Marsha Mason for Bucks County Playhouse. Performances will be held at Bucks County Playhouse in New Hope on Wednesday, February 5 at 7 pm, followed by a reading in New York at the WP Theater, 2162 Broadway at 76th Street, on Monday, February 10 at 7 p.m. Tickets are $25.

Dance Theatre Of Harlem Awarded $4 Million Mellon Foundation Gift

Dance Theatre of Harlem announced today a $4 million gift from The Andrew W. Mellon Foundation to support the organization's capacity building efforts, including improvements to salaries for artists and staff, investments in fundraising infrastructure and leadership, and innovative artistic and community-building initiatives. The grant includes a $1 million matching gift to be raised by the Dance Theatre of Harlem Board of Directors, led by Board Chairman Ackneil Muldrow, III, bringing the total support to $5 million. The timing of this gift comes at the culmination of DTH's extraordinary 50th Anniversary Celebration, with its New York City Center homecoming engagement and Vision Gala April 15-18, 2020.
