Miss Tess Unveils 'If You Don't Know How To Love Me'
by Sarah Jae Leiber
- Dec 6, 2019
Nashville-based chanteuse Miss Tess has unveiled 'If You Don't Know How To Love Me,' the latest track from her forthcoming album The Moon Is An Ashtray. 'Combining vintage-inspired instrumentation and Miss Tess' smoky, emotive vocals, 'If You Don't Know How to Love Me' explores the pitfalls of a long-term relationship that's fizzling out. It's the kind of tune in which the hurt lingers quietly behind the lyrics,' said The Boot, who called the song 'solemnly smoldering' and compared Miss Tess' vocals to those of Bonnie Raitt, Patsy Cline, and Lindi Ortega. 'This song speaks to the struggles we go through to compromise and make things work with a partner, while all along questioning the confidence of the relationship,' Miss Tess told The Boot. 'Are we trying to make it work because we truly believe it's right for us, or are we just stuck because we are comfortable enough, and too afraid of change to try something new?'

This is my favorite of the three Downtown Cabaret Children's Theatre Christmas shows I have seen. Written by Phil Hill and directed by Frank Root, it brings comedy, familiar music, and an excellent cast of six, all of whom are in roles that showcase their incredible talents.

BWW Rreview: D. Scott Eads and His Combo SHAKE THE HOUSE
by Don Grigware
- Oct 1, 2019
Singer D. Scott Eads returned to Sterling's Upstairs at the Federal for the third time Sunday September 29. and his latest show Shake the House proved indeed that the third time's the charm. It pulled together rock 'n roll chart toppers of the 50s and 60s covering Jerry Lee Lewis and Roy Orbison all the way up to Elvis and the Beatles. This is obviously Eads' kind of show The material suits his voice and musical style to perfection.
He really got into the music, moving his body in rythym and stretching his vocal instrument to the max with power and passion. Owning the show, he captured our total involvement in the process.
