Gibson: Reveals New Product Line-up And Musician Collaborations Ahead of NAMM

The guitar of choice for artists in rock, pop, country, blues, folk, jazz and beyond, the new GIBSON era celebrates iconic models while looking to the future with instruments that will nurture new players across generations, genders and genres of music. GIBSON will showcase the new line-up and artist collaborations next week at NAMM in Anaheim, CA, January 23-27. The newGIBSON guitars will be available for purchase later this year.

The McCallum Theatre presents Paul Anka and "Anka Sings Sinatra" for two performances. The Thursday, January 31, performance at 8:00pm is presented through the generosity of Paul and Carol Hill. The Friday, February 1, performance at 8:00pm is presented through the generosity of Henry and Carol Levy and Ron and Aviva Snow. A note from Paul: "The Anka Sings Sinatra tour will honor a great artist who has influenced me more than anyone else throughout my career, Frank Sinatra. It will also feature the hits that have spanned my career on this 60th anniversary year. It will be a night filled with his songs, my songs, my way!"

School of Rock will be arriving to DeVos Place on January 8th-13th in Grand Rapids to kick off the second half of the Broadway Grand Rapids season.  Bringing along with it is a talented cast of kids, who all play all their instruments live on stage every single night! Broadway World Detroit had a chance to catch up with one of the young rock stars on the tour, guitarist Mystic Inscho, who plays Zack Mooneyham, to see what he had to say on tour life, what he enjoys doing in his down time, and even what he'd like to do in the future post School of Rock.

Park Square's Area Premiere Of MARIE AND ROSETTA, Celebrates The Music Of Marie Tharpe

Park Square Theatre announces the area premiere production of Marie & Rosetta by George Brandt, to be directed by Wendy Knox, who directed the early workshops of the play at the Minneapolis-based Playwrights' Center. Soulful and spirited, this play with music tells the story of Sister Rosetta Tharpe, a 2018 inductee into the Rock 'n' Roll Hall of Fame who has become a Facebook sensation with tens of thousands of shares of the vintage video of her playing electric guitar on the street cropping up in feeds for the past several years. Tharpe brought fierce guitar playing and swing to gospel music and went on to influence rock musicians from Elvis to Jimi Hendrix and Ray Charles.

TSO And Sir Andrew Davis Launch 2018/19 Season With Symphonie Fantastique

The Toronto Symphony Orchestra (TSO), led by Sir Andrew Davis-Interim Artistic Director-embarks on its 97th season on Thursday, September 20 at Roy Thomson Hall. The opening concert highlights the Orchestra through the music of Berlioz: the epic Symphonie Fantastique, and the lesser-known Fantasy on Shakespeare's The Tempest, featuring the Toronto Mendelssohn Choir. Both works will be recorded live by Chandos Records for future release. The program, which is repeated on September 21 and 22, also includes Variations concertantes by Canadian composer Jacques Hetu-a remarkable work that was commissioned and premiered by the TSO in 2006.
