New York Guitar Festival Announces Additional Artists to Lineup

The New York Guitar Festival and Arts Brookfield will present “Memphis Minnie: In Search of the Hoodoo Lady,” a free, outdoor concert celebrating the life and music of influential blues guitarist Memphis Minnie. The Saturday, June 1st, 7pm event will be held at Brookfield Place's Waterfront Plaza in lower Manhattan.

Erik Koskinen Releases New Single 'Darlin''

Minnesota songsmith Erik Koskinen premiered the rustic new single 'Darlin'' today via GLIDE ahead of its release this Friday. The track is featured on Koskinen's new albumBurning The Deal set to arrive June 28 via Real Phonic Records/Tone Tree Music. Produced by Koskinen andBernie Larsen (Melissa Etheridge, Jackson Browne) and recorded by Jason Mariani (Mumford & Sons, Kenny Loggins), the album has a moody, shadowy vibe and the songs carry familiar musical touchstones: the drifting-cowboy loneliness of Hank Williams; the understated melancholy of J.J. Cale. They're populated by people we recognize, in circumstances we might share (or feel fortunate we don't).

BMI Announces Top Honors For 67th Annual Pop Awards

BMI (Broadcast Music, Inc.) is pleased to celebrate an evening of exceptional songwriting at its 67th Annual BMI Pop Awards.  In an event 22 years in the making,Sting, already a BMI Icon, will be honored for his enduring hit single “Every Breath You Take,” which has become the Most Performed Song in BMI's catalog of over 14 million musical works.  The award ceremony will also celebrate multi-platinum GRAMMY Award-winning band Imagine Dragons with the BMI President's Award, and Martin Bandier, legendary music publishing executive, will be named a BMI Icon, the first time a music publisher has been given this honor. Since selling out the McCallum in 2016, audiences have eagerly awaited their return.With a repertoire ranging from Lady Gaga to "The Ride of the Valkyries," The Ukulele Orchestra of Great Britain tackles an ambitious range of music-on just four strings. This group of genre-benders performs covers (with vocals!) of pop, jazz, country, and classics from film, along with anything else they think is ripe for the picking. Formed in 1985, the group has become something of a national institution in the UK.
