Grammy®-nominated singer/songwriter Bebe Rexha unveils new single, “You Can't Stop The Girl' (Warner Records) which is the featured song for Disney's “Maleficent: Mistress of Evil.” The accompanying video was helmed by award-winning director Sophie Muller and will be released in the weeks ahead. The highly anticipated Disney sequel hits theaters on October 18th.

Greg Silverman's Stampede and Peter Lawson's Steel Springs Pictures announced today that they will produce and co-finance the feature film ALICE, which Krystin Ver Linden will direct from her original screenplay. The film will mark Stampede's second feature to go into production and the first feature made under Peter Lawson's Steel Springs Pictures banner. Filming is due to commence in Louisiana in early 2020.

Variety reports that actor Chiwetel Ejiofor will star in action thriller 'Infinite' alongside Mark Wahlberg. Antoine Fuqua directs, and Paramount will produce.

Disney's The Lion King crossed the billion-dollar mark after less than three weeks in theaters this past weekend, according to Variety.

According to Variety, Disney's live-action remake of The Lion King has reigned supreme at the box office for the second weekend, bringing in $22.3 million in Friday's domestic ticket sales.

While The Lion King's updated soundtrack doesn't quite roar to life, it does manage to pull off most of the iconic music and take its place in the story's own circle of life.

The Lion King is on track to have the biggest opening ever for a Disney live action remake of an animated film, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Headlining the celebration were voice-cast members Beyoncé Knowles-Carter (Nala), Seth Rogen (Pumbaa), Chiwetel Ejiofor (Scar), Billy Eichner (Timon), Florence Kasumba (Shenzi), Keegan-Michael Key (Kamari), plus filmmakers Jon Favreau (director), Karen Gilchrist (producer) and John Bartnicki (co-producer), as well as several members of the team behind the film's music—songwriters Sir Elton John and Sir Tim Rice, composer Hans Zimmer, Producer Pharrell Williams and Lebo M.

Donald Glover was a guest on Tuesday night's episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live! Glover appears on the show the same night that his film, The Lion King, is holding his red carpet premiere in Los Angeles. Glover talks about The Lion King, the future of Childish Gambino, writing for “30 Rock,” how he spent all of his TV money, being a terrible RA in college, his son not knowing he plays Simba, and meeting Beyoncé.

Filmmakers, talent and special guests celebrated Disney's “The Lion King” tonight in Hollywood. The movie, which opens on July 19, 2019, welcomes beloved characters back to the big screen in a whole new way.

Beyonce will be releasing a new album titled, 'The Lion King: The Gift' which will feature an array of songs inspired by the film, performed by African artists.

Disney has released a new featurette about The Lion King with never-before-seen footage from the film, a glimpse behind the scenes during recording sessions, plus comments from director Jon Favreau and members of the voice cast.

Disney's live-action film adaptation of The Lion King has the second best first-day sale of the year for Fandango and the Atom Tickets' best first-day sales for a family movie in its first 24 hours of advance ticket sales, according to Deadline.
