The Tony Award®-winning Alley Theatre has announced the cast and creative team of Chisa Hutchinson’s world premiere drama Amerikin. The play is directed by former Resident Acting Company Emeritus member James Black and runs February 11 – March 13, 2022 in the Neuhaus Theatre.

PRIMARY STAGES has announced new artistic development programs, as well as their path towards reopening to in-person theater in Spring 2022.

The festival will consist of works from Victor Lesniewski, Chisa Hutchinson, Jacqueline Goldfinger, Caridad Svich, Terence Anthony, and Kevin Artigue.

Dorset Theatre Festival will welcome their 2021 summer season with the release of their StageFree Audio Plays Series, beginning with Redeemed by Chisa Hutshinson, directed by Dorset's resident artist, Jade King Carroll.

The Dramatists Guild of America has announced that the co-recipients of the 2021 Lanford Wilson Award are Mariam Bazeed and Rhiana Yazzie. The award will be presented at the Guild's awards ceremony at a later date. The writers will also each receive a $20,000 cash prize.

The 24 Hour Plays: Viral Monologues will premiere tonight with an all new series of unforgettable performances on IGTV @24hourplays. Fourteen actors have each been paired with one of fourteen writers who have crafted unique pieces especially for their actors.

Dorset Theatre Festival has announced its 44th Season, including the inaugural StageFree Audio Plays series, featuring new commissions by playwrights Theresa Rebeck and Chisa Hutchinson, and live main stage performances at the Southern Vermont Arts Center in Manchester, VT.

Nancy Manocherian's the cell theatre will host RANDOM ACTS, a solo play written and performed by Obie Award winner Renata Hinrichs. Directed by Jessi D. Hill, performances begin May 23 at the cell. Performances will be presented open air for a strictly limited audience.

Keen Company Artistic Director Jonathan Silverstein today announced the appointment of playwright Chisa Hutchinson and actor Jason Tam to Keen’s Board of Directors. Also announced today was the appointment of actor Kate Baldwin to Keen’s Advisory Council.

After having closed its doors to the public in March 2020 due to COVID-19, the Alley Theatre has announced its plans to reopen the theatre in Fall 2021. Reopening the Alley Theatre coincides with its 75th Anniversary Season with performances beginning on October 1, 2021.

Keen Co Artistic Director Jonathan Silverstein announced new guests for upcoming evenings of the FREE event, Keen After Hours: Heidi Armbruster & Paul Niebanck, who share the distinction of working on the most Keen productions, on April 5th, joining the previously announced Nick Blaemire tonight, March 22nd followed by Dan Domingues on March 29th.

 The Alley Theatre will present a variety of contemporary plays as a part of the Alley’s Spring 2021 Digital Season. Written by Alley All New alumni and a Houston-based author, the plays include El Chuco Town Forever by Isaac Gómez (April 2 – May 2, 2021), Man. Kind. by Don X. Nguyen (April 9 – May 9, 2021), and more.

Dorset Theatre Festival has announced the launch of its new Commissioning and Fellowship Program, welcoming returning director Jade King Carroll as Resident Artist, who will design and oversee this program in collaboration with Artistic Director Dina Janis. Carroll will also work with Janis in producing the Festival’s new StageFree Audio Plays.
