After a run at the Manchester International Festival, A Single Man, “a vital portrait of queer love and loss,” is currently performing at the Linbury Theatre at the Royal Opera & Ballet. The show, choreographed by Jonathan Watkins, is a reimagining of the novel by Christopher Isherwood, which follows the story of George, a man grieving the loss of his partner, Jim. Watkins is joined by singer-songwriter John Grant and composer Jasmin Kent Rodgman, who have contributed the music of the work.

Review: ROBIN HOOD: THE LEGEND. RE-WRITTEN, Regent's Park Open Air Theatre

It’s the obvious legend to draw upon in our current age of police brutality, austerity, and the withdrawal of the right to protest - and when you have a stage surrounded by an almost-forest, it should be the perfect fit. This summer at Regent’s Park Open Air Theatre, Carl Grose turns his attention to the retelling of Robin Hood, promising a hero unlike those you’ll have previously seen on the small and silver screen.

BWW Review: RICHARD III, Royal and Derngate

Held together by a mesmerising performance by Tom Mothersdale, Headlong's production of Richard III races along at such a pace that it's only after it stops that you realise exactly how much ground they have managed to cover. In John Haidar's hands, one of the very longest of Shakespeare's plays is a just over two and a half hours - including interval - which means that the death toll mounts at some speed.

BWW Review: GLENGARRY GLEN ROSS, Theatre Royal Brighton

The curtain rises at the Theatre Royal to reveal a heavily decked-out Chinese restaurant, with a sea of red lanterns hanging from polystyrene roof tiles. This is the opening of David Mamet's 1984 Pulitzer Prize-winning play Glengarry Glen Ross, which is making its Brighton stop on its current UK Tour following a sell-out run in the West End.

BWW Review: GLENGARRY GLEN ROSS, Richmond Theatre

It is over 35 years since David Mamet's scorching critique of the male ego and the dangers of capitalism debuted at the National Theatre. Glengarry Glen Ross went on the win the Pulitzer Prize and an Olivier. In 2017, it was revived for a successful West End run, directed by Sam Yates and starring a brilliant Christian Slater. Yates' visceral, powerful and profanity-laden production is now on a nationwide tour and comes to Richmond Theatre this week.
