Winners have been announced for the 2020 BroadwayWorld Louisville Awards - which were back bigger than ever, celebrating the best in local theatre of the past decade! 

Acting Against Cancer identifies itself as 'a nonprofit semiprofessional theatre company that strives to change the lives of children touched by cancer through the arts.' Within the Kentuckiana theatre scene, they have also developed a reputation as an ambitious theatre company most likely to perform modern musicals often labeled as 'counter-culture' or 'edgy.' Their current production of Duncan Sheik's American Psycho is absolutely the type of show we have come to expect from this talented group.

I am not the biggest fan of Adam Sandler, or at least the movies he manufactures for himself and his buddies, but I have always liked The Wedding Singer, one of his first, most endearing films. The story of Robbie Hart (Remy Sisk), a cheesy but sincere front man for a wedding band in the late 1980's, is a logical selection for adaptation into a stage musical, and provides ample opportunity for satire of social trends in fashion.

Pandora Productions end the 2015-2016 season with the Charles Busch classic campy, sci-fi, beach movie spoof: Psycho Beach Party. Join the cool surf set on Malibu Beach as they try to unravel the mystery of why people are being shaved head to toe! Something's not right on the beach. Is it the movie starlet who has run away from the studio? Is it the surfing star of the beach? Is it the scrawny boyish girl who wants to surf more than anything? Or is it her best friend who is a Sartre freak? Find out as Pandora presents this hilarious spoof.

Earlier this week at FEINSTEIN'S/54 BELOW, Broadway's Supper Club, Conner Wayne Milam with Charlie Meredith, Lexie Dorsett Sharp and Friends performed in 'Dare to Dream: Benefiting The Broadway Dreams Foundation.' Broadway Dreams Foundation Students and Alumni came together for an unforgettable concert to support future Dreamers.
