Opus One Studios Releases New Single Holiday Carol in Multiple Genres

Opus One Studios, publisher of creative products supporting worthy causes, announced today the release of its latest original music single, 'A Carol for All Children.' Described as a carol for our times, the composition celebrates what we all have in common in an era when religious differences are the cause of tensions and even wars. The carol's lyrics are by Alan Salisbury, with music by social activist and vocalist Whitney Parnell.

Songwriters Jerry Leiber and Mike Stoller, whose classic song 'Stand By Me' just received worldwide acclaim for its climactic performance at the Royal Wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, will be inducted into the American Jazz Walk of Fame in Kansas City, MO on Saturday, June 2. Their names will be embedded in a bronze medallion on the sidewalk near the Jazz Museum. Their 1952 song classic '(Going to) Kansas City' is now considered to be the city's anthem.

(NEC) will re-mount its 2017 revival of 'A Soldier's Play' by Charles Fuller, directed by Charles Weldon, from February 14 to March 4, 2018 at Gene Frankel Theatre, 24 Bond Street. The piece is historically NEC's most famous and successful play. It was produced last fall at Theatre 80 St. Marks as the culminating event of NEC's landmark 50th season, playing to full houses and glowing notices. The cast of that revival will return intact for the Gene Frankel Theatre run.

The thrilling artistic partnership of Hothouse Flowers frontman Liam Maonla and Grammy-winning jazz vocalist Cassandra Wilson, forged at the Irish Arts Center's 2016 Ireland Rising concert and deepened in the Center's acclaimed Masters in Collaboration residency program last November, will tour to Dublin's Olympia Theatre (November 3), Largo at the Coronet in Los Angeles (November 8) and The Old Town School in Chicago (November 10) followed by an exclusive return engagement to Irish Arts Center in New York City (November 12). A stellar ensemble of top Irish, folk, and jazz musicians from both sides of the Atlantic will join Maonla and Wilson in these special performances.
