On Monday, May 23, 2005, Summer of '42, the coming-of-age musical by composer/lyricist David Kirshenbaum, will be presented in a benefit concert reading for the York Theatre Company, featuring Rachael York and Ryan Driscoll.

The Official Drama Desk Cocktail Reception honoring this year's nominees was held on May 3. The awards ceremony takes place on Sunday, May 22.

Making her Broadway debut in 25th Annual Putnam Spelling Bee is Celia Keenan-Bolger.

The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee opened at Broadway's Circle in the Square Theatre on Monday, May 2, 2005.

A limited number (20) of $25 lottery tickets will be offered at every performance.

Previews begin on Friday, April 15 at Broadway's Circle in the Square Theatre (50th St., between Broadway and 8th) for The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, the new musical with music and lyrics by William Finn, with a book by Rachel Sheinkin, conceived by Rebecca Feldman and directed by James Lapine.
