PREFORMANCES with Allison Charney closes its 10th season on Monday, May 6th at 1:00pm at Merkin Hall with MAY FLOWERS, featuring operatic treasures, exuberant chamber music and two new works by living composers.

The New York Philharmonic String Quartet will take to the stage of the Regina A. Quick Center for the Arts for an afternoon of classical chamber music on Sunday, April 7 at 3 p.m.

On Saturday, May 18th at 8PM at CMT Auditorium in New York City, the Park Avenue Chamber Symphony led by Maestro David Bernard, will perform the New York Premiere of an animated interpretation of Mussorgsky's 'Pictures at an Exhibition' set to live music.

Da Camera of Houston's 2018-19 chamber music series continues with a performance by the New York Philharmonic String Quartet at Zilkha Hall, Hobby Center for the Performing Arts, on Friday, March 29, 2019, at 7:30 p.m. This concert marks the ensemble's long-awaited Houston debut.

The Massapequa Philharmonic, under the direction of its music director David Bernard, continues its 2018-2019 season with a selection of dramatic works, including Beethoven's Overture to King Stefan, Schumann's Symphony No. 2 and Lalo's Cello Concerto featuring noted cellist Adrian Daurov.

PREFORMANCES with Allison Charney continues its 10th season on Monday, March 11th at 1:00pm at Merkin Hall with a program spanning the globe and the ages of chamber music composition.

Music Director Jaap van Zweden will conduct the New York Philharmonic in John Adams's The Wound-Dresser, featuring baritone Matthias Goerne in his final appearance as The Mary and James G. Wallach Artist-in-Residence; Ives's Central Park in the Dark; and Brahms's Symphony No. 1, Thursday, March 21, 2019, at 7:30 p.m.; Saturday, March 23 at 8:00 p.m.; and Tuesday, March 26 at 7:30 p.m.

PREFORMANCES WITH ALLISON CHARNEY offered its second evening concert of its Tenth Anniversary Season on Monday, February 11 at Merkin Hall at Kaufman Music Center with a star-studded guest roster including New York Philharmonic principal cellist - Carter Brey; co-concert master of both the Orchestra of St. Luke's and the Orpheus Chamber Orchestra - Eriko Sato; principal flutist of the Orchestra of St. Luke's - Elizabeth Mann and pianist Donna Weng Friedman performing together with series founder, soprano Allison Charney and collaborative pianist, Craig Ketter.

Reminiscing about his journey from the basketball courts of rural Israel to the grand symphony halls of the world, cellist Amit Peled will read his children's book, "A Cello Named Pablo" with the accompaniment of cello as part of Howard Community College's (HCC) Guest Artist Series on February 8, 2019, at the college's Science, Engineering, and Technology Building (SET), Room 101. The following evening, Peled will return with pianist Noreen Cassidy-Polera for the recital of "To Brahms, With Love" in the Monteabaro Recital Hall, located within the Horowitz Visual and Performing Arts Center (HVPA).

Music Director Jaap van Zweden will conduct the New York Philharmonic in Beethoven's Piano Concerto No. 2, with Yefim Bronfman as soloist, and Rachmaninoff's Symphony No. 2, Wednesday, January 16, 2019, at 7:30 p.m.; Friday, January 18 at 11:00 a.m.; Saturday, January 19 at 8:00 p.m.; and Tuesday, January 22 at 7:30 p.m.

French keyboardist and conductor Emmanuelle Haim will make her New York Philharmonic debut conducting and leading from the harpsichord in Handel's Concerto Grosso, Op. 6, No. 1, and Water Music Suites Nos. 3 and 1, and selections from Rameau's Dardanus, Wednesday, November 21, 2018, at 7:30 p.m.; Friday, November 23 at 8:00 p.m.; and Saturday, November 24 at 8:00 p.m.

Returning to New York after his recital series of Schubert sonatas last spring, pianist Shai Wosner takes the stage with friends and colleagues in four chamber performances across the city-one each month from October to January. Throughout his career, he has embraced chamber music as an essential aspect of his artistry, to be pursued alongside performance as a soloist in recital or with orchestra. Now, this season, New Yorkers have the opportunity to experience his passion for chamber music over several different programs, all within a short window of time this fall and winter. The music of Gabriel Faure (1845-1924) is featured most prominently, including works written for duo, trio, quartet, and quintet ensembles. Additional composers on the programs are Cecile Chaminade, Schumann, Mozart, and contemporary American composer William Bolcom, who this year celebrates his 80th birthday.

Beginning tomorrow, July 28, designer, director, master puppeteer, and MacArthur "genius" Basil Twist will perform in his singular creation, Symphonie Fantastique, during all Saturdayevening performances. The 20th-anniversary production, which has received near universal acclaim and is scheduled to close on September 2, will include Twist on July 28, August 4, 11, 18, 25 and September 1 at 8:30pm. Set to Hector Berlioz's revolutionary 1830 score, Symphonie Fantastique, for the first time in New York, features live piano accompaniment by Christopher O'Riley. Hailed as a creative masterpiece when it debuted in 1998, the production, which opened on April 4, is a presentation from HERE's Dream Music Puppetry Program and a centerpiece of HERE's 25th anniversary season.

HERE is thrilled to present Cabaret Fantastique, a culminating concert event featuring pianist Christopher O'Riley who performs his haunting solo piano arrangements of songs by Radiohead, Nirvana, Pink Floyd, The Smiths, Elliott Smith, Portishead, and Sun Kil Moon. Master puppeteer and MacArthur "genius" Basil Twist and company members from Symphonie Fantastique will accompany O'Riley with new puppet work. The one-of-a-kind event will take place on August 19 at 7pm. Known to millions as the host of NPR's From the Top, O'Riley is currently performing live piano accompaniment for Basil Twist's Symphonie Fantastique, which continues performances at HERE until September 2.

The new classical series Only at Merkin with Terrance McKnight, featuring, among others, the world-renowned pianists Andre Watts and Ursula Oppens; the world premiere of a piano quintet by acclaimed new music composer Laura Kaminsky; and presentations by Academy and Grammy Awards winner Kristen Anderson-Lopez (Frozen); Emmy, Tony, Grammy and Academy Awards winner Bobby Lopez (Frozen); Tony Award and Pulitzer Prize winners Tom Kitt and Brian Yorkey (Next to Normal); and 10-time Tony winner Maury Yeston (Titanic, Nine) are among the numerous highlights of the Kaufman Music Center's diverse 2018-19 season at Merkin Hall.
