Glee's Dot-Marie Jones Joins the Cast of ROCK OF AGES at New World Stages as the First Woman to Play Dennis Dupree

Producer Michael Cohl/S2BN Entertainment, in association with Barry Habib, Scott Prisand/Seth Fass, Tony Smith, and Randi Zuckerberg/Mara Burros-Sandler have announced that three-time Emmy Award nominee Dot-Marie Jones ('Glee') will make her New York stage debut as Bourbon Room owner Dennis Dupree in the 10th Anniversary Production of Rock of Ages at New World Stages (340 W 50th St) for eight weeks only, from February 24 through April 19, 2020.

The Montalbán Celebrates Ricardo Montalbán's 100th Birthday with Diversity and Inclusion

In celebration of what would be legendary film and television icon Ricardo Montalbán's 100th birthday in 2020, the historic Hollywood theatre, The Montalbán, whose moniker is “where entertainment begins,” is unveiling new plans to fulfill Ricardo Montalbán's dream of diversity and inclusion. This year, the owners of The Montalbán, Ricardo's son in law and President of The Montalbán Company, LLC, Gilbert Smith, and daughter Anita, have plans to expand the theatre's musical performances, beginning with The Company Men on February 21 and 22; and The Soul of Broadway Starring Terron Brooks on February 28 and 29.

National Black Theatre Has Announced Their Newest I AM SOUL Workshop Productions

Dr. Barbara Ann Teer's National Black Theatre [NBT] announces the two workshop productions of its 51st Season 'SOUL Journey: NBT Beyond Walls': Bayano by Darrel Alejandro Holnes, directed by Jeffrey Page, and Retreat by Tracey Conyer Lee, directed by Zhailon Levingston, running March 11-15 and April 1-5 respectively.

Center for Performance Research to Receive $15,000 Grant from the National Endowment for the Arts

CPR - Center for Performance Research, which supports the development of new works in contemporary dance, performance and related forms, has been approved for a $15,000 Art Works grant to support Artistic Residencies in 2020. CPR's Artists-in-Residence and Technical Residency programs provide low-cost, high-quality space to the development and presentation of innovative dance and performance. Overall, the National Endowment for the Arts has approved 1,187 grants totaling $27.3 million in the first round of fiscal year 2020 funding to support arts projects in every state in the nation, as well as the District of Columbia and Puerto Rico.

Main Street Theater Presents ELIOT, A SOLDIER'S FUGUE Powerful Portrait Of A Puerto Rican Military Family

Main Street Theater (MST) is offering Houston audiences the beautifully human and heartbreaking Elliot, A Soldier's Fugue. Elliota?? is the first in a trilogy of plays by Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award winner Quiara Alegría Hudes' (In the Heights). Houston theatergoers will have the rare opportunity to follow Hudes' Elliot Trilogy with  Stages' production of Water by the Spoonful, Part II, also running in February. Mildred's Umbrella Theater Company will produce a staged reading of the final installment of the trilogy, The Happiest Song Plays Last, at MST during the first week of March.

Chicago Shakespeare Theater Will Stage World Premiere of Ingrid Michaelson's THE NOTEBOOK Musical

Chicago Shakespeare Theater has announced today that it will stage the World Premiere musical The Notebook, based on the classic best-selling novel by Nicholas Sparks that inspired the hugely popular film. The musical adaptation features music and lyrics by multi-Platinum singer-songwriter Ingrid Michaelson with book by playwright Bekah Brunstetter-best known as a writer and producer on NBC's hit series This Is Us.
