Five new members were elected to the board of trustees at Westport Country Playhouse, bringing the total to 33, led by Ania Czekaj-Farber of Westport, chair.

Playhouse 615 is now presenting NEXT TO NORMAL, the Pulitzer Prize-winning rock musical, written by Brian Yorkey and Tom Kitt, which runs February 11 – 27, 2022. 

Westport Country Playhouse has announced that applications are now being accepted for its 2022 Joanne Woodward Internship Program for theater career aspirants. Interns enhance their professional skills and gain on-the-job experience working directly with Playhouse senior staff during summer months.

Westport Country Playhouse announces updates to its 2022 season playing from April through October, including a change in the production lineup, the addition of two new directors, and a shorter run for four of the five shows.

The Public Theater announced a one-week extension of the world premiere musical THE VISITOR. Officially opening today, Thursday, November 4, THE VISITOR began performances in the Newman Theater on Saturday, October 16 and will now run through Sunday, December 5.

Westport Country Playhouse has changed the date of “Family Fun Day” to Sunday, October 31, from 11 to 3 p.m., due to inclement weather forecast for October 30, the previously announced date. “Family Fun Day” features activities for kids, treats, food trucks, community food drive, beer tastings, and costume parade for kids and dogs.

Following several delays and cancelations, The Public Theater has just announced that Tony winner Ari'el Stachel has departed the cast of The Visitor. A statement from the Public explains that it was a 'mutual decision'.

NEXT TO NORMAL is set to premiere next summer in Barcelona with a 100% immersive format. The production will be led by Alice Ripley, who won a Tony Award in 2009 for originating the role of Diana.
