Bad Girls In the News: Players Club of Swarthmore presents CHICAGO, 9/15-30

The Players Club of Swarthmore opens its 107th season of award-winning community theater with the Kander, Ebb & Fosse classic musical Chicago Sept. 15-30, for ten performances at 614 Fairview Ave. in Swarthmore.  Set in Chicago during the Roaring Twenties, an era renowned for organized crime, alcohol prohibition and the very best jazz, Anne Marie Scalies directs a razor-sharp show about bad girls behaving badly that will bring sass and brass to the Players Club of Swarthmore stage, along with choreography by Katie Sienkiewicz and Nate Golden, and musical direction by Emily Szal. Buy tickets online atwww.pcstheater.org.

CURIOUS GEORGE AND THE GOLDEN MEATBALL Debuts at Upper Darby Summer Stage

Audiences will be delighted by the antics of the inquisitive monkey George and his owner, the Man in the Yellow Hat, as they hit the stage with new friends, catchy music, and a whacky adventure. This musical is a first for Upper Darby Summer Stage and is guaranteed to be a hit among families with young children. Performances are August 2, 3, and 4 at 10:30 am and on August 3 at 7:30 pm at the Upper Darby Performing Arts Center.

17TH ANNUAL HELPMANN AWARDS Take Place Monday 24 July at Capitol Theatre Sydney

The 17th Annual Helpmann Awards, presented by Live Performance Australia, will be held on Monday 24 July at 7.00pm at the Capitol Theatre, Sydney on the set of 'Kinky Boots'. The Helpmann Awards are the premier celebration of Australia's vibrant live performance industry, and recognises distinguished achievement and excellence in Australia's live performance sectors.

The Near-Sighted Knight and Far-Sighted Dragon Come to PCS

The Players Club of Swarthmore's Children's Theater Series continues the summer fun with the Children's Series musical comedy The Near-Sighted Knight and the Far-Sighted Dragon, directed by Ryan Goulden.  Performances are July 18, 19, 20, 25, 26 and 27 at 7 p.m.  on the Raymond W. Smith Stage at Players Club of Swarthmore, 614 Fairview Rd. Tickets are $10 for adults, $8 for children and free for children under age 3. Buy tickets at www.pcstheater.org or at the door.
