The 17th Annual Helpmann Awards, presented by Live Performance Australia, will be held on Monday 24 July at 7.00pm at the Capitol Theatre, Sydney on the set of 'Kinky Boots'. The Helpmann Awards are the premier celebration of Australia's vibrant live performance industry, and recognises distinguished achievement and excellence in Australia's live performance sectors.

The Hosts this year are Jan van de Stool & Tim Draxl.

The star array of Presenters are Trevor Ashley, Jimmy Barnes AO, Joan Carden AO OBE, Penny Cook, Joel Creasey, Chloe Dallimore, Charles Edwards, Toby Francis, Wayne Harrison AM, Deborah Hutton, Dami Im, Barry Jones AC, Andrew Kay AM, NSW Minister for Tourism and Major Events Adam Marshall, Emma Matthews, David McAllister AM, Tim McFarlane AM, Kate Miller-Heidke, Richard Mills AM, Kate Mulvany, Stephen Page AO, Graeme Russell, Brooke Satchwell, Garry Stewart, Lyndon Terracini AM, and Brian Walsh.

Performances at the Helpmann Awards Ceremony this year include the musicals 'My Fair Lady' with Reg Livermore, 'Kinky Boots', 'Disney's Aladdin', 'The Book of Mormon' and 'Dami Im and Esther Hannaford celebrate the music of Beautiful: The Carole King Musical'.

In addition, Grinspoons' Phil Jamieson is joined by the cast of Green Day's 'American Idiot' to perform "21 Guns".

Australian Dance Theatre will perform a tribute to choreographer Tanja Liedtke with her international success 'construct'.

The Sydney Children's Choir will present a piece by Sally Whitwell 'Lux Aeterna' for the In Memoriam and the cabaret circus hit 'Velvet' starring Marcia Hines closes the night.

2017 Helpmann Awards will be broadcast live on Foxtel Arts and webcast via www.foxtelarts.com.au from 24 July to 23 August. There will be encore screenings on Tuesday 25 July at 12pm and 9.30pm and throughout the week.
