by Tyler Peterson
- Dec 5, 2013
New Line Theatre, "the bad boy of musical theatre," has secured the rights to the regional premiere of BONNIE & CLYDE to open its 24th season next fall. The show opened on Broadway in fall 2011, but was too dark and unforgiving for Broadway audiences - which means of course it's perfect for New Line. Like the company did with High Fidelity and Cry-Baby, the New Liners hope to bring this smart, intense, sexy show back to life and spur new productions in regional theatre across America.

John Gilmore's New Book, ON THE RUN WITH BONNIE AND CLYDE Separates Historical Fact From Pop Culture Myth
by BWW News Desk
- Oct 28, 2013
LOS ANGELES, Oct. 28, 2013 /PRNewswire/ Bonnie Parker and Clyde Barrow's crime spree and grisly deaths have become the stuff of legend. And like all legends, much of the reality of the events has been glossed over with the passage of time. Author John Gilmore's mission, to tell the real story of Bonnie and Clyde, has unseated the popular misconceptions that have held the public's imagination. Gilmore places the reader squarely inside a succession of stolen cars on a dusty, two-year, devil-take-the-high-road spree of robberies, shoot-outs and murderall the way to its infamous end in a torrent of bullets and blood. Gilmore delivers a captivating and factual tale of betrayal, demonization and bloodthirsty revenge. He exposes the demise of Bonnie and Clyde as an outright assassinationno due process, just a secretly mandated murder of Barrow and anyone unlucky enough to be with him.

BWW Reviews: Texas Premiere of BONNIE AND CLYDE Hits Its Mark
by Jeff Davis
- Sep 23, 2013
Sometimes going against the grain pays off. Sadly, for the real life Bonnie and Clyde, going against the grain by becoming bank-robbing outlaws ended in their demise, but for the McCallum Fine Arts Academy and their musical production of Bonnie & Clyde, doing something daring and different is far more fruitful. Even when compared to productions starring more experienced, seasoned performers, Bonnie & Clyde is an exceptional accomplishment.
