Experience the Buck Creek Players Collection of Favorites as we close our 43rd season of quality theater with the thrilling new musical, BONNIE & CLYDE. Opening on Friday, June 9th, and continuing for three weekends through Sunday, June 25th, curtain times are at 8 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays, with 2:30 p.m. matinees on Sundays. All performances will be held at the Buck Creek Playhouse, 11150 Southeastern Avenue.

The Great Depression was a dark and confusing period in American history, with unemployment at record breaking highs, homelessness and food scarcities, much of the American population was struggling to make ends meet. However, shown the face of adversity, our country was given an opportunity to evolve and created new paths for success, two of those dreamers were the infamous Bonnie Parker and Clyde Barrow, whose search for fame and fortune shook America to its core, brought them coveted fame and infamy, inspiring songs, movies…even a musical.

The 2009 musical theatre retelling of the short and violent lives of this pair, who robbed banks and left scores of dead victims in their wake as they evaded the law in a misguided quest for notoriety, puts a romantic spin on their legend at the same time that it does not side step the grittier aspects of this tale.

Have you ever seen a production where you thought that the actors where too good for the show? That's how it felt watching Studio 18 Production's inaugural show 'Bonnie & Clyde' at 12th Avenue Arts. I am very impressed that this brand new company threw together such a talented cast for this musical, and at such an esteemed venue. Unfortunately, with its pandering plot line and repetitive score, this musical felt beneath the caliber of those involved.
Kokandy Productions is pleased to celebrate its fifth anniversary with an expanded season featuring four fully produced musicals, including two Chicago premieres and two guest directors. The 2017/18 Season will also include numerous readings and workshops - adding fresh voices to Kokandy's "New Works Initiative" and emphasizing the company's commitment to becoming an increasingly relevant part of Chicagoland's musical theater and new work development communities. Pierrot Productions presents "Bonnie and Clyde, The Musical" at Mercer County Community College's (MCCC's) Kelsey Theatre Fridays, June 17 and 24 at 8 p.m.; Saturdays, June 18 and 25 at 8 p.m.; and Sundays, June 19 and 26 at 2 p.m. Kelsey Theatre is located on the college's West Windsor Campus, 1200 Old Trenton Road. A reception with the cast and crew follows the opening night performance on June 17.
