John Campione & Kayla Carlyle to Lead WaterTower's BONNIE & CLYDE; Cast & Creative Team Confirmed

WaterTower Theatre Producing Artistic Director Terry Martin today announced the cast for the musical Bonnie & Clyde, with music by Frank Wildhorn, lyrics by Don Black, and book by Ivan Menchell, running October 10-November 2, 2014 at the Addison Theatre Centre. The ensemble cast stars John Campione as Clyde Barrow, Kayla Carlyle as Bonnie Parker, David Price as Buck Barrow, Sarah Elizabeth Smith as Blanche Barrow, Anthony Fortino as Ted Hinton, Sonny Franks as the Preacher, Alexandra Doke as Young Bonnie, and Andy Stratton as Young Clyde. The ensemble features Daron Cockerell, Brigitte Goldman, Clinton Greenspan, Kyle Igneczi, Hunter Lewis, Christia Mantzke, Michael Scott McNay, Kelly Nickell, Alan Pollard and Willy Welch.

Bonnie & Clyde is made possible, in part, by ABC Bank, Pinnacle Family of Companies, and the WaterTower Theatre Board of Directors.

Many of the cast will be making their WaterTower Theatre stage debuts in Bonnie & Clyde, including Daron Cockerell, Alexandra Doke, Anthony Fortino, Brigitte Goldman, Clinton Greenspan, Hunter Lewis, Michael Scott McNay, Kelly Nickell, and Andy Stratton.

The creative team for Bonnie & Clyde is led by Director René Moreno. The team includes Mark Mullino as Music Director, Kelly McCain as Choreographer, Sarah Brown as Set Designer, Michael Robinson as Costume Designer, Dan Schoedel as Lighting Designer, and Scott Guenther as Sound Designer. The Assistant Director is Kelsey Leigh Ervi, and Vicki Caroline Cheatwood is the Dramaturg.

Bonnie & Clyde is a musical with the book by Ivan Menchell, lyrics by Don Black, and music by Frank Wildhorn. The world premiere took place in La Jolla, California at the La Jolla Playhouse in November 2009. The musical debuted on Broadway in December 2011. It was nominated for 3 Outer Critics Circle Awards and 5 Drama Desk Awards, both including Best New Musical, as well as two nominations for the 2012 Tony Awards. Subsequent productions have since been staged internationally, including productions in Japan, Korea and the U.K. Bonnie and Clyde will also be making its debut in Melbourne, Australia later in 2014.

The musical centers on Bonnie Parker and Clyde Barrow, the ill-fated lovers and outlaws whose story has been infamous since they achieved folk hero status during the Great Depression. These two dreamers found their way into violent circumstances, and their electrifying story of love, adventure, and crime captured the attention of an entire nation! Stuck in a dead-end job in depression era Texas, young Bonnie Parker fell for charismatic Clyde Barrow. As their fame, notoriety, and body count rise, these ill-fated lovers are racing toward an inevitable end.
