After two and a half years without Broadway's biggest night, the Tony Awards are back. This year's presentation will honor the outstanding shows, performances and artistry of the 2019-2020 Broadway season, which was brought to a halt by the COVID-19 pandemic. The 2020 Tony nominees are already winners... literally. For some, this marks their first nomination, but others have already won Tony Awards in seasons past. We took a look at which nominees have won at least a Tony or two (or seven) - amongst them, they've gathered a total of 42 awards!

Segerstrom Center for the Arts announces the return of its popular tradition - American Ballet Theatre's captivating production of The Nutcracker.  Co-presented by the Center and ABT with choreography by ABT Artist in Residence Alexei Ratmansky, The Nutcracker is the beloved holiday story based on The Nutcracker and the King of Mice written by E.T.A. Hoffmann and set to a magical score by Peter Ilyitch Tchaikovsky.

Segerstrom Center for the Arts President Casey Reitz and American Ballet Theatre (ABT) Executive Director Kara Medoff Barnett announced today a three-year partnership combining the resources of America’s National Ballet Company® and one of the nation’s leading presenters of dance.

The American Ballet Theatre has been named the official dance company of Segerstrom Center for the Arts. Segerstrom Center for the Arts President Casey Reitz and American Ballet Theatre (ABT) Executive Director Kara Medoff Barnett announced today a three-year partnership combining the resources of America’s National Ballet Company and one of the nation’s leading presenters of dance.

Based on the stories of P.L. Travers and the original Walt Disney film, Cameron Mackintosh and Disney’s Olivier award-winning production of Mary Poppins resumed performances at the Prince Edward Theatre on 7 August 2021 and is currently booking to 13 February 2022.

Joining the previously announced Zizi Strallen as Mary Poppins and Charlie Stemp as Bert are Charlie Anson as George Banks, Amy Griffiths as Winifred Banks, Petula Clark as Bird Woman, Liz Robertson as Miss Andrew, Claire Machin as Mrs Brill, Jack North as Robertson Ay and Paul F. Monaghan as Admiral Boom and Bank Chairman.

BroadwayWorld has just learned that the Theater Hall of Fame will induct six distinguished artists at its November 15th ceremony. 2021 inductees will include: Bob Crowley, Gerald Freedman, Alan Menken, Lynn Nottage, Anna Deveare Smith and Leslie Uggams.

The acclaimed musical from Disney will open at the Sydney Lyric Theatre in May 2022.

Cameron Mackintosh with First Night Records and Warner Music have officially released the new live cast recording of the Olivier Award winning hit West End production of Mary Poppins today, Friday, November 6. Mary Poppins returned to its original home in the Prince Edward Theatre last October.
