Mike Stoller & Corky Hale present Josephine Beavers with live at The Catalina Jazz Club, May 25, 2022 at 7:00pm.

Singer Josephine Beavers, the Chicago vocalist who has been generating national press coverage for resuming her career in her middle years, will make her major West Coast debut at the Catalina Jazz Club on Wed., May 25 at 8:30 P.M.  She is being presented by Mike Stoller (of Leiber-Stoller) and his wife Corky Hale, and Corky will also make a special guest appearance.  Beavers will be accompanied on piano by her musical director, Ed Vodicka.

The Apollo Theater today announced the 2022 Apollo Spring Benefit, the historic Theater’s largest annual fundraising event, will return as an in-person event on Monday, June 13, with the theme “The Renaissance Is Now!”

The show is written by Karen Bankhead with additional material by Pam Trotter and performed by Karen Bankhead. It features musical performance by singer Pam Trotter, and is directed by Karen Bankhead. It is produced by Free Spirit Productions. The production will play one performance at Theatre West, 3333 Cahuenga Blvd. West, in Los Angeles, CA 90068 on Sunday, June 19, 2022 at 3:00 p.m. Tickets are $35 in advance, $40 at the door. Drummer Aaron Seeber has released his electrifying debut album as a bandleader, First Move, today via Cellar Music Group. Joined by vibraphonist Warren Wolf, alto saxophonist Tim Green, pianist Sullivan Fortner and bassist Ugonna Okegwo, Seeber and his apt crew recorded First Move at Ornithology Jazz Club in Brooklyn back in 2021.
