Audiences are invited to rock, pop and doo-wop to the sounds of the Marietta Theatre Company's latest musical production --The Marvelous Wonderettes! Written and created by Roger Bean, the tribute to the timeless tunes from the 1950s and 1960s is set to take audiences on a melodic journey back in time when boys, big hair and bigger singing dreams occupied the minds of the Springfield High School Wonderettes. Playing from April 13 through April 28 at the Lyric Studio on the Square, this off-Broadway hit is a colorful concert fit for the whole family.

The epic story returns. Tony Kushner's two-part play, ANGELS IN AMERICA makes its way back to Broadway tonight! A cast led by Tony nominee Andrew Garfield and two-time Tony winner Nathan Lane will begin previews tonight at the Neil Simon Theatre with Part 1: Millennium Approaches. This smash off-Broadway hit takes you to the 1958 Springfield High School prom where we meet Betty Jean, Cindy Lou, Missy, and Suzy, four girls with hopes and dreams as big as their crinoline skirts! As we learn about their lives and loves, the girls serenade us with classic '50s hits including 'Lollipop,' 'Dream Lover,' 'Stupid Cupid,' and 'Lipstick on Your Collar.'

On the latest episode of 'The Poddest Couple,' Alan and Matt welcome two stars from the Off-Broadway hit 'Red Roses, Green Gold,' Maggie Hollinbeck and Natalie Storrs. The two discuss what it's like to share a Grateful Dead musical with Dead Heads and theatregoers in the same audience, their upcoming trip to SXSW, and more. Matt and Alan also preview the spring 2018 season on Broadway, and we learn that Alan has significant issues when it comes to following simple directions.

Virginia Stage Company continues its 39th Season with The Parchman Hour: Songs and Stories of the '61 Freedom Riders. Co-produced with Norfolk State University Theatre Company, The Parchman Hour journeys through the Deep South with the pioneers who fought discrimination and paved the way for the future. Written and directed by Mike Wiley, this play is adapted from real life accounts of the 1961 Freedom Rides and shares these struggles through music that ranges from spirituals to Bob Dylan.
