Orchestra Lumos has shared the details of its 2023/24 season, a year after the announcement of the Connecticut ensemble's rebranding from Stamford Symphony.

Following a four-year national search, the Arkansas Symphony Orchestra (ASO) has appointed Geoffrey Robson as music director to lead the performing arts organization into its 58th season. Robson, who currently serves as the symphony’s artistic director, stood out from a field of exceptional candidates as the unanimous choice to guide the ASO’s creative future.

JoBeth Williams (“Poltergeist,” “The Big Chill”) and Peter Strauss (“Rich Man, Poor Man,” “The Jericho Mile”) star in the romantic Love Among the Ruins, written by James G. Hirsch and Robert A. Papazian, from a film script by James Costigan. Love Among the Ruins is a Papazian Hirsch presentation  and is directed by Michael Arabian.

On Wednesday, June 28, TDF’s TKTS will mark 50 years in Times Square. Starting at 11am, there will be a special celebration in honor of TKTS’ golden anniversary behind the TKTS Booth on Broadway and 47th Street, in front of the red steps.

Franklin County Visitors Bureau has announced the finalists of A Cappella & Unplugged 2023. They are Elijah Myers from Fairplay, MD, Paul Minnich from Abbottsville, PA, Robert Twine from Mercersburg, PA, The RMS Experience from Shippensburg, PA, and Marrisa Porter from Felton, PA.

Consisting of guitarist Isaac Horn, mandolinist Lincoln Mick, and fiddler Bailey Warren, the genre-bending trio wrote and recorded Welcome in their hometown of Nashville, TN, working with engineer Logan Matheny (Colony House, Hiss Golden Messenger) and mixer Shani Gandhi (Sarah Jarosz, Sierra Hull).

In February 2022, Tron Theatre Company staged a production of Moorcroft by Eilidh Loan, an actor and writer who’d come onto Artistic Director Andy Arnold’s radar during lockdown when she auditioned as part of an open call for actors using an excerpt from the play. 

Children and adults alike will relish in the joyful vignettes, catchy tunes, funny dialogue and bright, memorable characters of A Year with Frog and Toad KIDS, opening at the Roxy Regional Theatre on Monday, June 12, at 6:00pm.

Pompano Beach Arts has announced that LaVie will be taking the stage for the next Live and Local Concert Series. The popular program is the perfect showcase for the multitalented LaVie, who performs an eclectic mix of genres.

The collection includes 30 original songs created for the series plus “Grease Is the Word,” a modern take on the song “Grease,” which was written by Barry Gibb and performed by Frankie Valli and served as the opening track of the original film. Executive music producer and GRAMMY nominee songwriter Justin Tranter helmed the music and soundtrack.
