The North American tour of the 10-time Tony Award-winning Best Musical THE BAND’S VISIT, featuring music and lyrics by Tony and Drama Desk Award®-winner David Yazbek, will resume its national tour on Tuesday, October 5, 2021 at the Durham Performing Arts Center and continue on to more than 25 cities through Summer 2022.

Atlantic Theater Company will present the world premiere production of The Last of the Love Letters written by and featuring Ngozi Anyanwu, directed by Patricia McGregor, and featuring Tony Award Daniel J. Watts and Xavier Scott Evans.

Laura Osnes has been facing backlash on social media following a story published by the New York Post's Page Six last week. The story alleged that Osnes was fired from a one-night production of Crazy For You at the Guild Hall in East Hampton because she refused to get vaccinated against COVID-19.

The 5th Avenue Theatre announced today the five writing teams representing BIPOC writers of all gender identities, women writers, transgender writers, gender non-conforming writers, and non-binary writers that have been selected to receive a First Draft Commission in the second cycle of its new musical development program, First Draft: Raise Your Voice.

Chicago Shakespeare will present the debut of Broadway-bound new musical, The Notebook (March 15-April 24, 2022). The World Premiere production features music and lyrics by singer-songwriter Ingrid Michaelson with book by playwright Bekah Brunstetter.

Chicago Shakespeare Theater announces the return of in-person performances at the Theater’s home on Navy Pier with the much-awaited debut of As You Like It infused with the hit songs of The Beatles, beginning October 6, 2021.

Atlantic Theater Company has announced that Tony Award nominee Daniel J. Watts will join playwright Ngozi Anyanwu in the cast of the world premiere production of The Last of the Love Letters, directed by Patricia McGregor. Casting for an additional role will be announced at a later date.

National Alliance for Musical Theatre has announced the line-up of new musicals for their 33rd Annual FESTIVAL OF NEW MUSICALS on Thursday October 20 and Friday, October 21, 2021. This year, NAMT ‘s Festival of New Musicals will be presented as a unique digital and in-person hybrid, allowing wider accessibility for attendees.

Boise Contemporary Theater, the only professional theater in the state of Idaho that focuses entirely on new and contemporary plays, is thrilled to announce the selections for its inaugural BIPOC Playwrights Festival, made possible by the Idaho Women's Charitable Foundation and the Morrison Center Endowment Foundation. The festival will take place August 2-14th at the Velma V. Morrison Center for the Performing Arts.

City Theatre Company, Pittsburgh’s home for contemporary plays, has announced the details of the theatre’s 47th season of new works, taking place in-person beginning in September 2021. Reopening to audiences after 18 months due to the Covid-19 pandemic, City Theatre will fully produce six plays, live and in-person.

Lincoln Center Theater’s LCT SPOTLIGHT SERIES, a free program of digital events, featuring LCT artists in performance, conversation and more, will continue on Thursday, June 24 at 7pm with the third episode of “Lileana Blain-Cruz in Conversation: On Directing.”

A Philly native, his work examines the forced absurdity of life for those who identify as Black, Queer, and HIV-positive –  a diverse intersection filled with eloquent stories that challenge the white supremacist, heteronormative structures that exist in American culture.

After six years of thrilling New York audiences with their spontaneously created musicals - and one year in quarantine performing primarily for their pets - the legendary improv group Vern returns to the stage with a brand-new show.
