Last night (Friday, January 11, 2019) Disney Theatrical Productions hosted 'Disney Theatrical at 25: The Stars Align' at BroadwayCon in Manhattan. The lively panel was made up of some of the stars who created these indelible shows and characters in their original productions. Moderated by Disney Theatrical Productions head Thomas Schumacher, the panel was a fascinating and hilarious discussion filled with behind-the-scenes stories. Panelists included Christian Borle (Tony®-winning Black Stache in Peter and the Starcatcher), Ashley Brown(title role in Mary Poppins), Merle Dandridge (Kala in Tarzan), Susan Egan (Belle in Beauty and the Beast), James Monroe Iglehart(Tony-winning Genie in Aladdin), and Patti Murin (Anna in Frozen).
Today's subject Matthew Bourne has done what some might say is impossible, making his theatre life quite the big deal. Bourne has managed to meld the worlds of classical dance and theatre together in his internationally acclaimed company New Adventures with some pretty terrific results. His latest creation, Cinderella, hits the stage of the Opera House at Kennedy Center on January 15 playing through the 20th.

Luminaries from the hotel and tourism industries were treated to a special live performance from Broadway's Ashley Brown as the Hotel Association of New York City (HANYC) hosted the "Red Carpet Hospitality Gala," HANYC's Annual Dinner on Monday, November 26, 2018. A veteran Broadway actress, Brown played Belle in Beauty and the Beast and originated the title role in Mary Poppins. The fundraiser took place at JW Marriott Essex House in Manhattan. A portion of the proceeds from the gala will go towards the HANYC Scholarship Fund.
Tony Award winner Kelli O'Hara will give an intimate cabaret performance at Feinstein's/54 Below on Thursday, January 31, 2019 at 5:30 p.m. in honor of Music Director Steven Reineke's tenth anniversary leading The New York Pops. Kelli and Steven will jointly curate a program featuring songs from some of their memorable career highlights and work together over the past decade.

The orchestra, led by Music Director Steven Reineke, is joined by Ashley Brown (Broadway's original Mary Poppins, and Belle in the Broadway version of Disney's Beauty and the Beast) for a concert of classic and contemporary carols including "Deck the Halls," "It's the Most Wonderful Time of the Year," "Winter Wonderland", and "O Holy Night." Ashley and The New York Pops will also be joined by Judith Clurman's Essential Voices USA, who are featured on a Hanukkah Medley, as well as other seasonal favorites.
The New York Pops, led by Music Director Steven Reineke, kicks off its 2018-19 season with Roll Over Beethoven: A Different Kind of Orchestra today, October 19 at 8:00 p.m. in Stern Auditorium / Perelman Stage at Carnegie Hall. The orchestra is joined by three time 'Las Vegas Headliner of the Year' singer Frankie Moreno, plus band and a pair of dancers, for an evening of rock 'n' roll favorites by Chuck Berry, Jerry Lee Lewis, Elvis Presley, The Beatles, and others. Songs include 'Great Balls of Fire,' 'Jailhouse Rock,' 'Eleanor Rigby,' 'Bridge Over Troubled Water,' and more.
Nikki Renee Daniels and Ryan Shaw will join The New York Pops and Music Director Steven Reineke for Unforgettable: Celebrating Nat King Cole and Friends on Friday, February 8, 2019 at 8:00 p.m. in Stern Auditorium / Perelman Stage at Carnegie Hall, replacing previously announced soloist Billy Porter, who has withdrawn from this performance due to a schedule conflict. Unforgettable celebrates Nat King Cole's centennial, featuring his greatest hits alongside special selections from legends that he inspired.
