Nonprofit the Afro Latin Jazz Alliance (ALJA) partners with the Ori-Gen Collective -- a progressive group of New York City-based Latino artists comprised of GRAMMY and Latin GRAMMY Award-winners, for the launch of an innovative new platform featuring Latin American roots music, jazz, and technology focused programming. Developed over the past year, the Ori-Gen Collective adapts to the realities of the COVID-19 global pandemic by producing contemporary pan-Latin music content for online audiences. Ori-Gen Collective launches its free weekly concert series on Facebook Live and new Ori-Gen Collective Podcast on Thursday, May 7 at 9 pm EST.
The Music Center's virtual platform offering newly curated programming, The Music Center Offstage, will present the latest installment of its Digital Dance Experience on Sunday, May 17, 2020, at 2:00 p.m., with an exclusive two-part INSIDE LOOK showcasing the artistry of Cuba's contemporary sensation, Malpaso Dance Company. Students and their families will also be treated to a digital performance featuring the company on Friday, May 15, 2020, at 11:00 a.m. Both presentations can be seen at musiccenter.org. The Music Center's Digital Dance Experience, INSIDE LOOK and digital student performance are programmed by TMC Arts and are supported by the Glorya Kaufman Foundation.
Monologues and Madness, the 13 year old writing and performance series conceived and produced by writer-actor, Tulis McCall, goes live online for the first time, April 22nd at 6pm.

Last seen as part of The Joyce's Cuba Festival in 2019, the Havana-based company will again heat-up The Joyce Theater from March 24-29. Birdland Jazz Club and Birdland Theater are pleased to present the schedule for the month of February! At Birdland Jazz Club, catch the iconic Lionel Hampton Big Band Featuring Jason Marsalis, current GRAMMY nominee Catherine Russell, the Birdland debut of AGUAS Trio with Omar Sosa, Yilian Cañizares and Gustavo Ovalles, and iconic vocalist Jane Monheit. Internationally recognized trumpeter Rachel Therrien, the Seth Weaver Big Band, and The Voice contestant Melinda Rose Rodriguez will also be performing upstairs.
