SYTYCD Recap: Finalists Revealed; Dancers Perform Bway & 'Anything Goes'; Update w/ Pics
by Matt Tamanini - Aug 21, 2014

And then there were six. We are just two weeks away from the Season 11 (and possibly series) finale of 'So You Think You Can Dance,' and even though this isn't the six remaining dancers I thought we would have just a few weeks ago, that doesn't mean that the talent still on hand isn't as exciting as ever. With last week's surprising eliminations of Tanisha (that one still brings a tinge of anger) and Rudy, the field is slightly more open for dancers to claim a spot in the finale. Though Ricky is still the leader in the clubhouse in terms of guys, the girls' race is suddenly wide-open.

by Matt Tamanini - Aug 14, 2014

During his decade at the helm of 'American Idol,' Nigel Lythgoe beat the idea of theme weeks into a bloody, self-parodying pulp. For tonight's Top-8 edition, each routine will be performed to a Michael Jackson song; either one of his classics, or a single from his 'new' album 'XScape.'

BWW Recap: SYTYCD Reveals Top-20 Amidst Ultimatums, Early Contenders & A Broken Tooth
by Matt Tamanini - Jun 26, 2014

After four weeks of impressive, but not compelling, auditions, on Wednesday night, SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE's 11th season dove head-first into an expedited Vegas Callback Week. Not only did we see each of the callback rounds, but we also saw the Green Mile, which brought us to this season's Top-20. While not having the Green Mile lead into a studio performance, as in recent years, was a little disappointing, I definitely appreciated not having the Top-20 announcements drug out for an entire two-hour broadcast.
