Orlando Shakes in partnership with UCF continually looks for new and effective ways of breaking down barriers to offer accessible and inclusive programming for all. Over the past two years, the company has experimented with live stream technology by broadcasting Children's Series productions. The Children's Series productions at Orlando Shakes aim to give students, particularly those in marginally served schools and communities, exposure to high quality, professional productions; broadcasting live performances to schools across the state is another step toward bringing arts engagement to every classroom.  

Snow White, adapted by Brandon Roberts, produced by Orlando Shakes in partnership with UCF appears in the Goldman Theater from June 13 - July 28, 2019. Two families clash amidst a star-crossed romance in the Orlando Shakespeare Theater in Partnership with UCF (Orlando Shakes) special production of William Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet performed by the Shakespeare with Heart company. Orlando Shakespeare Theater (Orlando Shakes) in Partnership with UCF kicks off its 2017-2018 Children's Series with the celebrated Middle Eastern folktale Aladdin and the Magic Lamp from June 15 - July 23, 2017 in the Goldman Theater. Adapted by Brandon Roberts (2016's Beauty and the Beast and 2015's The Frog and the Princess), the family-friendly production will feature a 'Choose Your Own Adventure' interactive approach, in which the audience will be able to determine the outcome of the play.

Gatsby? What Gatsby? When you hear this charming protagonist's name, what images flash through your head?  Lavish parties dripping with elegance?  An atmosphere of abandoned care filled to the ceiling with social climbers?  Pearls, fringe, and feathers that drape over the silhouettes of dancing women?  Smoke and mirrors that orchestrate a timeless vortex of pure magic?  'The Great Gatsby' has extended beyond the realm of high school reading curriculum, and has become an iconic entity synonymous with the 1920's.  The 1925 novel by F. Scott Fitzgerald has inspired certain adaptations including ballets, television episodes of popular shows, computer games, and most famously the 2013 film adaptation starring Leonardo DiCaprio, Carey Mulligan, and Tobey Maguire.  The Orlando Shakepeare Theater continues this legacy with their production of the stage adaptation by Simon Levy which opened on February 8th.
