Orlando Shakespeare Theater (Orlando Shakes) in Partnership with UCF presents Pinkalicious, The Musical, script by Elizabeth and Victoria Kann with additional lyrics and music by John Gregor. Based on the New York Times Bestselling children's book series by Elizabeth and Victoria Kann, the Children's Series musical production runs from April 6 - May 6, 2017 in the Margeson Theater. Tickets ($9 - $18) can be purchased by calling (407) 447-1700 ext. 1, online at www.orlandoshakes.org, or in person at the John and Rita Lowndes Shakespeare Center (812 E. Rollins St.).

An expansion of the wildly popular children's book, Pinkalicious can't stop eating pink cupcakes despite warnings from her parents. Her pink indulgence lands her at the doctor's office with Pinkititis, an affliction that turns her pink from head to toe-a dream come true for this pink-loving enthusiast. But when her hue goes too far, only Pinkalicious can figure out a way to get out of this predicament.

"Pinkalicious is nonstop fun and is packed with great messages that will put a huge smile on the faces of parents and kids alike," said Anne Hering, Director of Education at Orlando Shakespeare Theater. "The audience will learn important lessons like healthy eating habits, choosing foods in in moderation, and much more as they go on a 'pinktastic' adventure."

Following her performance as Rosalia in West Side Story, Catie Pires-Fernandes returns to Orlando Shakes to star as Pinkalicious. Other casting includes Benjamin Smith as Peter/Ensemble, Maddie Tarbox as Dr. Wink/Ensemble, Gabrielle Toledo as Mrs. Pinkerton/Ensemble, and Maxel Garcia as Mr. Pinkerton/Ensemble.

Director and Musical Director Steve Mackinnon has previously served as musical director for West Side Story, Spamalot, and Miss Nelson is Missing at Orlando Shakes. He also served as both director and musical director for The True Story of the Three Little Pigs, and A Night in New Orleans: A Magic Tree House Adventure at Orlando Shakes. Other local directing credits include Shrek! The Musical, The Adventures of Tom Sawyer, Pinkalicious, State Fair, Songs For A New World, Avenue Q, Altar Boyz, and Chicago.

Additional members of the Orlando Shakes artistic team include Choreographer Kim Ball, Set Designer Conner Edson, Costume Designer Mel Barger, Lighting Designer Colleen Doherty, Sound Designer Britt Sandusky, and Stage Manager Kaylyn Kriaski.

Pinkalicious, The Musical is presented by Florida Hospital Medical Group and Orlando Magic.

Orlando Shakespeare Theater is supported by United Arts of Central Florida, host of OrlandoAtPlay.com and UAArtsEd.com. This project is sponsored in part by the Department of State, Division of Cultural Affairs, the Florida Council on Arts and Culture, and the State of Florida.
