Review: AN EVENING OF ONE-ACTS at Ridgefield Theater Barn
by Bruce Apar - Mar 15, 2023

The good news is that almost all the seven short pieces (averaging 10 minutes each) in RTB’s 2023 menu of theatrical hor d'oeuvres justify their place in the program well enough. Nobody will leave hungry for diverting entertainment.

Review: AN EVENING OF ONE ACTS 2023 at Ridgefield Theater Barn
by Sean Fallon - Mar 12, 2023

On Saturday, March 11, 2023, I had the pleasure of experiencing one of my favorite annual theater traditions in seeing AN EVENING OF ONE ACTS 2023 at the Ridgefield Theater Barn in Ridgefield, CT.  This annual event is a new series each year of original one act plays, mostly in the comedy genre, and always done extremely well by a very talented cast.  Seven total one acts were performed this year, with no intermission.  The prop and scene changes, during the blackouts, between each one act were smooth and efficient.  This was a packed house in an intimate setting.  The cast enters and exits through the center aisle of the audience.  The walls of stage left and stage right are visible to the audience.  Every audience member seemed to be highly entertained.

Armonk Players Present Staged Holiday Reading
by A.A. Cristi - Nov 28, 2016

Christmas Eve. New York City. A failed writer (Gregory Mangieri) and a struggling actress (Emily Tarpey) meet while looking at the famous holiday windows at Bloomingdale's, Bergdorf's, Lord & Taylor's and Macy's. The windows they've been viewing come alive and we get to see what they saw and more - amusingly irreverent views at what the characters in the windows think and do about their lives in the stories they find themselves in.

Hole in the Wall Presents JACQUES LAMARRE HAS GONE TOO FAR, 11/18-12/10
by Nicole Rosky - Nov 9, 2011

The Hole in the Wall Theater, New Britain's home for edgy and intriguing plays and musicals, takes on four world premiere one-act comedies by Connecticut playwright Jacques Lamarre. In a riotous evening entitled Jacques Lamarre Has Gone Too Far, characters push beyond the boundaries of normal, everyday situations into some rather bad behavior. Inspired by John Waters, Saturday Night Live and the Ridiculous Theatrical Company, Jacques Lamarre Has Gone Too Far is a whacked-out look at life today. The production, not suitable for younger viewers, runs Fridays and Saturdays at 8 p.m. November 18 through December 10. There are two Sunday Matinees at 2 p.m. on November 27 and December 4.
