Milwaukee Repertory Theater presents the World Premiere production of Lost Girl by Kimberly Belflower performed by the 2017/18 Professional Training Institute (PTI) ensemble this July 19-22, 2018 in the Stiemke Studio.  PTI is an advanced actor-training program for students in 8th-12th grade who may have an interest in pursuing a career as a professional theater artist.   The 2017/18 PTI ensemble features sixteen students hailing from fourteen different high schools who received free training from some of the top theater professionals in the world, culminating in this capstone performance  of Lost Girl where they will be employed as paid, professional actors.

Living legend Carol Channing is getting a one-of-a-kind tribute made up of over 50,000 fingerprints and videos, spawned after the success of the Harvey Milk project in San Francisco. Artist Khoi Nguyen is doing a series of prolific painting/installations of icons like Harvey Milk and Carol Channing that involves interactive technology and consists of thousands of fingerprints from celebrities to the homeless as participants.

The Winter Park Playhouse shines with hits from the country classics songbook in their latest professional production, The Honky Tonk Angels, running May 11 through June 10, 2018. Performances are Today and Saturday evenings at 7:30 p.m., Thursday and Saturday matinee performances at 2 p.m. and select Today and Sunday matinees at 2 p.m.

Both ladies are no strangers to these roles and most recently performed in the show together at the North Carolina Theatre in Raleigh. Located at 95 Riverside Parkway, Fredericksburg, VA, performances will run until July 15th.

After breaking box office records in 2006, one of the most popular productions in Virginia Stage's history returns with a star-studded cast. In this gospel musical by Regina Taylor, 17-year-old Yolanda travels south in a coming of age story that is a testament to love, sisterhood, and family, where she learns that a hat can be more than a fashion statement. Multiple generations of women tell stories of life's most memorable moments with their hats serving as allegories about the wonders of life - all with a flair of "hattitude."

ALWAYS...PATSY CLINE is more than a vehicle for Cline's classic music. It's a funny, touching account of the night a superfan's dream came true and a reminder of the magic that can happen when we get up the courage to reach out to another human being.

Local high-school seniors and aspiring playwrights, Addison Antonoff, William Miner, and Carter A. Prentiss have been chosen by Dirt Dogs Theatre Co. (DDTCo.) as prizewinners of its inaugural Student Playwright Festival. Each playwright is awarded a $500 scholarship and is paired with a Houston-based playwright as a mentor to fine-tune the plays and prepare the plays for production. The students will be guests of honor as their plays are performed at the MATCH - Midtown Arts & Theater Center Houston on June 6, 2018.

Directed by Debi Marcucci and starring The Phantom of the Opera's Julia Udine, the production begins with previews on April 10th, opens on April 12th, and continues through June 10th in the Walnut's Independence Studio on 3.

This spring The 5th Avenue Theatre will stage Kiss Me, Kate, the Cole Porter musical inspired by William Shakespeare's The Taming of the Shrew. Kiss Me, Kate will be directed by Alan Paul and choreographed by Michele Lynch, who both worked on a previous production of the show at Shakespeare Theatre Company in Washington, D.C. in the fall of 2015.

Shakespeare Theatre Company today announces the cast of Lerner and Loewe's multiple Tony Award-winning musical Camelot. Directed by STC Associate Artistic Director Alan Paul (Kiss Me, Kate; Man of La Mancha), the classic musical will play at Sidney Harman Hall (610 F St NW) from May 22 through July 1, concluding STC's 2017-2018 mainstage season.

The York Symphony Orchestra will present April in Paris on Saturday, April 7 at 7:30 p.m. at the Appell Center for the Performing Arts in York.
