Artists at Atlanta's Alliance Theatre's costume shop are working to sew masks that will be distributed to Georgia hospitals.  

Alliance Theatre has released the following statement about watching their production online: 

The Ojai Playwrights Conference is postponing their previously announced benefit celebration, a?oeImagining America,a?? scheduled for Saturday, May 2, 2020, at the Kirk Douglas Theatre in Culver City.

In light of ongoing developments resulting from the coronavirus (COVID-19) and the national move to delay or cancel large group gatherings as recommended by the Centers for Disease Control and World Health Organization, Atlanta's Alliance Theatre will suspend all remaining performances in its 2019/20 season, as well as select programming and special events.

Actor's Express continues its 32nd season with The Brothers Size, the powerful play by Tarell Alvin McCraney, the Academy Award-winning writer of Moonlight. McCraney is best known for his acclaimed trilogy The Brother/Sister Plays, which includes The Brothers Size, In The Red and Brown Water and Marcus; or The Secret of Sweet, produced by Actor's Express in 2015 to great critical and box office success. 

Flint Repertory Theatre presents “ONE FLEW OVER THE CUCKOO'S NEST” by Dale Wasserman, adapted from the book by Ken Kesey. Performances begin Friday, March 13 and runs through Sunday, March 22. Tickets are now on sale.

Texas Woman's University's College Audition Prep Program is back better than ever this year with two great options for high school musical theater and acting students: a new two week Intensive stay camp hosted by Texas Woman's University on their beautiful Denton, Texas campus OR a four day Weekend event packed with master classes, dance classes, mock auditions and college program overview presentations.

The sun will come out in September as Children's Theatre of Charlotte opens its 73rd season with the Tony award-winning musical Annie.

Mae, a struggling young actress, loses both of her parents to cancer. Peggy- her kind, peacemaker mother- dies of cancer in 1995. Six years later, when Mae moves back home to care for her terminally ill father, she imagines moments of reconciliation and grace. But unlike Peggy, Al does not handle the treatment with any sort of grace and Mae struggles with her role as his caregiver. As her father's health declines, his obsession with the Sci-Fi Network and creating a machine to deliver him to another dimension intensifies. Mae summons memories of her mother for guidance, and with humor and compassion strives to reach her final goal...to give her father a good death.

Penobscot Theatre Company, in collaboration with the Maine Science Festival, presents an endearing, humorous and hopeful new play, Safety Net, from March 12-29.

Detroit middle schoolers will get their shot to experience the educational benefits of theatre starting next school year, thanks to the producer of Hamilton, the University of Michigan, and the Educational Theatre Foundation (ETF). A new partnership between ETF and the University's School of Music, Theatre & Dance (STMD) will bring JumpStart Theatre (JST), a program that creates sustainable theatre arts programs in middle schools where there previously were none, to Detroit in 2020-21 a?" growing JST's reach to six areas around the country.

The Sacred Fools Theater Company is rounding out its Prime Season with the West Coast Premiere of Antigone, Presented by the Girls of St. Catherine's by Madhuri Shekar, directed by Reena Dutt. Opening Friday, March 6 and running through April 11 in the Broadwater Main Stage, the show will run Fridays and Saturdays at 8pm, with Sunday matinees on March 22 and 29, and April 5 at 3pm and one performance on Monday, March 30 at 8pm.
